Spring After Colony 244
"Come on, people! What are you waiting for?" an impatient voice called out, and it wasn't Duo's--who was currently sampling kisses de Trowa in the hallway closet.
A knock at the door and a voice whispered through. "Do you want to miss your grandchildren on TV just for some necking?" Zechs asked. The door opened--but much to the elder man's surprise, instead of the two coming out, Zechs was pulled inside and attacked from both sides.
Several long, deep kisses later, Duo asked, "What were you sayin'?"
Zechs moaned. "Was I saying something? Maybe 'more' and 'lower'?"
Meanwhile, in the living room, the remaining adults plus Bryce, Adrienne, Hisoka, and Michael were watching the floats on TV. Well, actually, only Bryce, Adrienne, their father, and Quatre were watching TV. Hisoka was coloring, Michael was playing with blocks, Mara Jade was going over work, Heero was looking up the security surrounding the Parade and thus his daughter and grandchildren, and Wufei was quietly dozing.
At Adrienne's excited squeals, all looked up to spot the Royal Sank float trudging along the parade line--King Adrian Peacecraft, his wife Trinity, and their two children, the crowned prince Maxwell and the royal princess Yuy smiled and waved at the multitudes of people who were cheering.
"It's too dangerous for all four of them to be out in the open together," Heero growled. "Too tempting a target."
"They'll be fine," his daughter hushed him. "See all those pretty shiny uniforms surrounding the float? I bet there's at least twice that number to match them out in civ clothes there. They're not stupid."
All too quickly the float had passed and they returned to their previous activities. Wufei woke up and grunted, getting up. "If you'll excuse me, I think I'll take a leaf out of the children and go back to bed."
"Need any company?" Heero offered.
"I think I'll have plenty, but you're welcome to come along."
They stopped by the hall closet on their way up, dragging the other three men back to bed with them.
End Part 7
AR: I'd rather be sleeping than watching floats... though the Duo-Trowa-Zechs-Heero-Wufei option is definitely not a bad deal either....
