Spring After Colony 240
Meiran helped section off several different colored strips of basket weave for Bryce and Adrienne, doing her best to ignore Galen and Gabriel who were bickering again. At the other end of the table, Dakota and Jasmine where conspiring over their half-finished baskets.
"You don't want to make them too big," Grampa Heero cautioned the two competing boys. He was weaving his own set of baskets, too.
Meiran thought this was one of the best things about spring and Easter. Every year Grampa Heero would sit down and start making Easter baskets for everyone. Usually Mom and Uncle Triton liked to help, along with Grampa Wufei and Grampa Trowa, but this year was a lot more subdued because of Hisoka.
Meiran's newest baby brother had been born before Christmas, but the five-month-old was still in the hospital due to weak organs. He was a cute little baby, despite being a bit scrawny and hooked up to so many machines. Meiran was actually making an Easter Basket for him now as she supervised Bryce and Adrienne. Hopefully Hisoka will be allowed home next Sunday.
"We're done!" Jasmine shouted, waving a neon pink, purple, blue, and yellow basket.
Heero looked up and surveyed the basket with little surprised. Finally he nodded and then turned back to his basket. "Good, you can start on your Mom's and Dad's. May I suggest you use more yellow and green for your mom and the blue and pink for your dad?" he added nodding towards the pastel colors.
Snickering, the two girls dug in.
