Okay, the basis of this (it was going to actually be the surmise of my first book-- hey, a girl can dream, can't she?-- except that I'm lazy, and G-boys are so nice.) resembles 'The Matrix' slightly, and possible 'The Game'-- but I never saw the second movie, partially because I was too disgruntled that someone stole *my* idea and made some stupid film about it.
Here's a quick rundown, so you aren't completely confused by my pitiful two pages: the Verona Society was founded in the AC timeline-- a secret organization of the world's most powerful men and women. Each year, the members were put through a Game of survival, in which reality and electronic signals fed to their brain by way of a chip implanted in their bodies merged together-- the ultimate obstacle course, which pitted them against each other.
In the end, only a select few remained. Among them, an even smaller minority formed the Council, which would summon the Select and new (possible) members for the next year's Game. Blah blah blah blah. (Egads! Is this a. a. PLOT?!?) I have a sinking feeling that someone (besides the stupid production company that raided my brain and made that movie) has already done this... but, c'est la vie.
