199 AC, June
Warm....
Somehow I feel so warm and safe....
It's funny to trust someone with all your heart when you've just met him few days ago. Yes, I've just met him two days ago, but it feels like I've known him all my life. Like I've known him better than anyone else.
Yet I know nothing of him.
I want to know you more than anyone does, something inside my heart urges me to. But somehow... something tells me not to. It says I'd regret it....
I'm confused.
Who are you, Yuy-kun?
Who are you and why are you here?
Are you here for me?
Are you?
I want to know....
Amanogawa Masayuki stirred slowly. His eyes were hurt, but his heart was lighter than ever. He blinked, trying to remember where he was, trying to remember whose arms were holding him tight, protecting him from the cold breeze he could slightly feel.
And he remembered.
He sat up bolt, causing those arms to let go. He nearly shrieked as he realized it was already dark. He panicked. He hadn't told his mother he's going to be home late and this was the second time in a row. She's NOT going to like this! He had to get home as soon as possible!
Heero Yuy watched the boy's antics and couldn't help but smile. It always amused him to see how they could look so alike, yet be so different inside. He could never imagine himself acting like that, scrambling to his feet with a panicked face and a hopelessly careless stance.
THUD!
See?
Heero sweatdropped as the boy tripped on his own shoelace. Pathetic, he thought.
"Amanogawa," he said, "It'll help if you stop panicking."
The boy blushed furiously. After managed to control of himself, he finally asked in a stammering voice. "Wh... what time is this?"
"Nine thirty." Before the boy could do anything like emitting a girly scream or something of the kind, he continued, "I've called your house already and said that you're spending the night with me, so it's okay." He waved his handphone on the air.
Masayuki looked relieved briefly before he turned green all of a sudden.
Heero noticed that. "What?"
"What did you say?"
"That I've called your house."
"Saying?"
"You're spending the night with me."
Silence.
//...donotthinkhentaidonotthinkhentaidonotthinkhentai.... //
Heero sweatdropped as the boy hyperventilated. What was the boy thinking?
Masayuki reminded himself to strangle Ann Marvin as soon as he met her tomorrow.
"That's Virgo." Heero pointed to the west.
"Really?" Masayuki didn't sound too convinced. "Doesn't look like a virgin to me."
"I don't see the reason they call it the Virgin either."
"Un.... Hey, what's that one?"
"...Scorpius, the Scorpio."
"Wow, now that looks like one. What about that one, the one next to it?"
"...Sagittarius, the Archer."
"How about that one at the south?"
"...Lupus, the Wolf."
"Wow, looks like you know all of them, huh?"
"You need them as directions when your navigation system goes off."
"Huh?"
"...Nothing."
The two boys were lying on the grass on the middle of the clearing, sprawled out watching the stars. The sky was clean that night, so they had no obstacle while watching the twinkling objects, especially without the moon.
"Hey, that red dot near Virgo, is that Mars?"
"Yes."
"When can I see Venus? Mercury?"
"Just before the sun rises. You want to see?"
"Yeah! I wanna see Jupiter and Saturn too!"
"They'll appear at about 2 am tonight, so you'll have to wait."
"Okay... I wish I could see Saturn's rings."
"...I have binoculars in my bag."
"Really? May I borrow them?"
"Go ahead." Masayuki got up from where he was and reached out for Heero's bag. "Oh, and there's some sandwiches inside. You must be hungry."
"Me? Oh no, I'm fine..." His voice trailed as a loud rumbling sound was heard. He blushed.
Heero smirked.
Soon the boy was back beside him munching the sandwich. They just lay like that for a few moments, enjoying the beautifully rare view before them. Stars were not easy to see nowadays since they were often hidden behind the lights of human activities. Even in places free of neon and other lights, the sky was often too cloudy to catch even a single star twinkle. Planetariums were available but it's just... different.
"Yuy-kun, look! A shooting star!"
...shooting star... a fallen meteor... Operation Meteor... Gundam....
...Duo....
"Yuy-kun, make a wish!"
"A wish?"
"Yeah! They say that when you see a shooting star, you should make a wish and it will come true!"
"...It's only a myth."
Masayuki made a face. "Well, we can always hope, can't we?"
Heero said nothing.
"So, Yuy-kun, what's your wish?" The boy asked cheerfully.
"My wish?" He trailed off. His wish.... Did he ever have a wish? A wish was something coming from one's ego, something he had never learned to have. His life had been dedicated only for missions and that was it. No distractions.
But... then again, wasn't his presence here a result of his own wishes?
"Yeah, don't you have any wish?"
A wish.... His wish.... "I wish for Duo to be happy."
"Duo?" The boy's voice was sounded confused.
"Duo... my friend."
Masayuki looked bemused. "...Is he unhappy?" He asked.
Heero didn't answer.
The silence was making the seemingly younger boy uncomfortable.
Suddenly Heero asked, "What is your wish?"
"Mine?" The boy's voice was subdued. "Mine, huh? I wish... for my sister to be healed... and for my brother to come back to me."
"...Hiroyuki?"
Masayuki smiled wistfully. "Yes, Hiroyuki. After all these years, I know it's nearly impossible that he's still alive... but I still feel he's out there somewhere...." He sat up and gazed with a distant look. "I wish... I wish to meet him again someday."
He chuckled. "Silly, isn't it? Hoping to meet the dead."
Heero sat up suit. "...Not really," he said.
The boy rose an eyebrow.
"Maybe he will come back to you someday."
Masayuki looked stunned before he finally cracked a smile. He shifted closer to Heero and leaned into him, nestling his head to the other's shoulder.
This time Heero rose his eyebrow. "Amanogawa?"
The boy mumbled sheepishly, "I'm sappy, ain't I?"
Heero smiled and raised a hand to stroke the boy's hair. "You're just being melancholic."
"E-heh," he grinned as he tried to hide the little tear forming in the corner of his eye. "I'm sappy," he insisted.
The other boy chuckled.
"Oh, Masa-ku~~~~~~n!!"
Oh my, that dreaded voice. I turn to see Ann running to me.
"Good morning, Ann," I greet her.
"Good mo~~~rni~~~~~~~ng!"
Is it just me or she is up to something? I don't think I want to know.
"I heard you didn't get home last night," she begins with her singsong voice.
She IS up to something bad. "So?"
"I saw you with Yuy-kun yesterda~~~~~~y."
"So?"
She asks ecstatically. "So? Did you get to A, B, or you got all the way to C?"
I sputter at that. "ANN!!!!!" Heat is creeping all over my face.
She's already two blocks away running for her dear life (and hoping for the dear train not to leave yet because it's almost time for it to go).
Having no idea what to do, I scream with exasperation, "You... you... HENTAI GIRL!!!!!!!!" I really think I need to strangle that girl.
"Maa, interesting, isn't it?"
I turn to see Yuy-kun on his motorcycle smirking behind me. I must be really annoyed not to have heard him coming. I make a face. "I didn't know you were into kinky stuff."
He shrugs and beckons me to hop onto his motorcycle for a ride to school.
I roll my eyes but I hop in anyway.
