The gw-fan Mailing List
Welcome to the Gundam Wing Fan ML - where we talk about fanfiction, fanart, doujinshi, and the fans' interpretations of the series. The main focus of the list however, is and always will be the spreading and discussion of fanfiction. If you find the mail volume too high, but still want the fanfics, you may want to be on the fic mirror list instead. Please note that this list features a lot of yaoi fiction/art.

Gw-Fan Rules And Regulations
- All On-Topic posts are welcome. If your post relates to Gundam Wing, even if it's not fanfiction, it is *not* off-topic. Please do not use [OT] or [Semi-OT] or any variant on a message that is Gundam Wing related. You'll confuse people, and many who delete any message with those flags will miss your message.
- Practice common sense and basic netiquette. If you don't know what that is, go look for 'netiquette' in your favorite search engine. Flames and personal attacks are not allowed. It is perfectly acceptable to disagree with someone, but do it nicely. Personal threats, trolling and continued flaming without contribution to the list will be dealt with case-by-case, but may result in removal from the mailing list.
2a) As part of common sense and netiquette, it should be clear that any messsages posted to gw-fan should *remain* in gw-fan. 'Ye shall not forward gw-fan messages to outsiders'.
- The material posted to this list is mostly adult-oriented. Please be responsible and unsubscribe if you are not of the legal age in your country/state.
- Any form of attempt to limit people's right to make their own interpretation of the series by referring to your own opinion as more accurate for whatever reason, or claiming official sources and closely related material must be interpretated your way, will not be tolerated and is strongly discouraged. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, no matter how "wrong" you think it is.
- If you suspect a piece of art or fanfiction posted to the list to be plagiarised, please contact the admin first before going public on the list. This is to prevent possible innocent members from being stamped as plagiarists. The admins of the list are DaMoyre (damoyre@aol.com) and Jaimie (saionji_no_miko@yahoo.ca)
- Please don't post anything but text to the list - images, programs, etc, should be uploaded to the list's file database, if you don't have a homepage to put them on. This also holds true for .txt or other document files attached to your message. Please, cut and paste, don't attach!
- Please, do everything that you can to avoid one-liners (one line replies). Some one-liners are acceptable; "me too!" replies are not. Use your judgement. Remember that with fanfiction and fanart replies, even if only one line are appreciated, so those one-liners are acceptable.
- Ideally your signature should be no longer than five to six lines of text. Members with signatures that are excessively long (we've seen some in the fifteen to twenty line range!) will be asked to shorten them.
- We understand that it may be tempting in introductions or in a separate topic to ask people about themselves: how old they are, where they live. Don't. Not only is it off-topic, but the admins have had to ask time and again for people to please stop doing it. So here it is as a rule. At no time should you make statements disclosing your age or specific location onlist.
- Please don't send "Spam-mail" to the list. This includes chain letters, pyramid schemes, petitions, jokes and anything else of this nature.
- All fics posted to gw-fan are forwarded to the fic-mirror. Before you post any fics to the list, you should make sure they are formatted as follows:

If you are going to post someone's fiction to this list, we have a couple of guidelines that we would like you to follow.
- Please ensure that the Author's name is in the headers of the fic.
- Whatever method the author used to give you permission, the author's permission in her own words should be posted into the notes:
- Notes: Your notes here. ("Hey! Sure, I don't mind at all if you post the message up on GW-Fan!" --Author's Name)
- If the fiction is archived on a website, send us the link, not the whole story. Link to each part, or link to the Title Page as you see fit.
- Do everything in your power to ensure that the author of the fic is over 18. Come right out and ask them if necessary. We don't allow minors on the list, and minors posting by 'proxy' aren't welcome either. Sorry.
