2002 GW Addiction Fluff Contest: Rules

The second Fluff contest, aka the Gundam Wing Addiction 2002 Fluff contest is now open: it will run 6 weeks from December 13th until January 30th, 2003.

Considering the fact that I have less than 4 hours until I need to get back to work and that I will be unavailable until next Monday morning, now is probably the perfect time to announce:

the grand opening of the 2002 GW Addiction Fluff contest! Now...

I know, I know, this is the middle of December and most of you are horribly busy, but as Draco always says, it is easier to write fanfics when you really should be doing something else, such as studying for your finals. Or preparing for the Xmas season or whatever... (such as packing for tomorrow as I should be doing right now). But never mind common sense and real life, on to the good stuff:

  1. fluff, not sap: comic relief, parody, puns, anything goes (feel free to refer to last year's definitions and winners if you are feeling a tad confused)
  2. post without limits here and/or on the GWA_contest mailing list (but no attachments can be accepted by the ML, there are too many viruses floating about)
  3. er, yes, GW fanfics only
  4. any/all/no pairings: yaoi, yuri or het pairings are all welcome
  5. only new fics (not posted/archived already): this is really to give everyone an excuse to write more fun-filled fics! You can of course post simultaneously to any other forum or ML
  6. only complete stories, no work in progress: part of a series are OK as long as they can stand by themselves
  7. no word count maximum or minimum
  8. deadline: March 15th, 2003
  9. the popular vote will be conducted through the GWA_contest ML (unless I manage to set up this really nifty polling script... I'll keep you informed)
  10. winners will receive a neat banner/button and winning fics will be archived in the contest section...
  11. please feel free to publicize this contest to all relevant venues!

I am sure I have forgotten something: oh well...

In case you are wondering, yes of course I am just hoping to ensure we all get nice, cozy fics to read over the Christmas period, why do you ask?

Now for some feedback (since most of you must be wondering if these sudden decisions are pulled out of a hat, probably because they are...)

  1. Are you deliberatly trying to drive us all mad?
  2. Why is this the 2002 Fluff contest when it will close in 2003?
  3. Thank you, but SOME of us have a real life
  4. Do you ever use new topics for your contests? This is a recycled one!
  5. All of the above
  6. None of the above
  7. 42
