Disclaimer: Gundam Wing and its characters belong to Bandai, Sunrise and Sotsu Agency and are only being used for non-profit entertainment purposes. References to printed texts, films, sitcoms, musical pieces, and/or other fanfictions don't belong to the author either. Original Characters, including but not limited too, the Berh Siblings, Jake Mazzolla and "the chibis", are original and hence, the author's own creation.
Notes: This is the story of the children, the nine children of the 6 gundam pilots (Heero--Zechs) plus the grandchild of Treize Khushrenada. This story will not focus primarily on the characters from the series, but rather, the generation after them. This story is not for all die-hard fans, but runs along the lines of a more original piece.
Additional Note: 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 often times refer to each other as "husband"; please refer back to "Promise of the Rings" Part 15 if this causes confusion.
Additional Note 2: The chibis often times refer to their parents' friends and partners as "Uncle" or "Aunt"--in this case, the term is used simply as one of respect since, with the exception of Kit & Adrian's relation to Relena and all of Quatre's sisters, none of the parents have siblings.

Heirs to the Legacy I by Andrea Readwolf

Part Thirty-Six

~ December 12, AC 227~

She was still thinking about her little discussion with her sister when someone knocked on her bedroom door. She'd only sat up when the door cracked open and she quickly snatched up her dressing gown to cover herself with before she saw Adrian slipping in and closing the door behind him.

"Oh, it's you."

"Don't sound too excited there," he teased, coming up to the bed and leaning over to kiss her. Trinity fell back and he followed, deepening the kiss just a little further. Only a little further, and then he stopped, shifting his weight onto the bed instead of on Trinity so he could hold her.

"Tomorrow night you'll be back in the queen suites."

"Mmm, yes," Trinity agreed, snuggling closer to his warm body. "But for tonight...." she dropped a kiss on his cheek, "It's probably best if we don't offend my poor fathers' sensibilities."

Adrian snorted but backed off the bed, dragging Trinity's hand with him. "So you'll stay here, and I'll go back to my rooms," he replied, putting on a pout to make her laugh.

"Tomorrow it will be *our* rooms," she promised, smiling.

"Hai." He kissed the hand he held, leaned in to kiss her cheek, her lips, before pulling back again. "Okay then. I'll suffer that big old bed all by myself tonight then."

"Adrian?" she called before he could leave. He turned and waited expectedly. "I love you," she said. "Now and forever, I promise."

He smiled back at her. "I love you, too. Now and forever."

Warm arms slipped around her, followed by a warm chest pressing against her back and legs moving against hers and, half asleep, she smiled. A hand moved over her waist to cover her stomach and warm lips teased her ear.

"She's happy."

"Mmm?"

"Mmm." Tristan shifting closer to her... and something else shifted, too.

Mara Jade pressed back, smirking. "I thought you promised my fathers no hanky-panky in the house."

"I did, but this isn't Whispering Pines, is it?"

Mara Jade twisted around until she could see Tristan in the shadows of night, grinning back at her. "You are a very bad man," she whispered.

"You like me because I'm bad," he replied, rolling her onto her back and moving over her.

"I do not."

"You're right," he groaned, spreading her legs and moving between them...god, he loved it when she didn't wear anything under her nightshirt. "You love me because I'm so *good*," he punctuated, sliding home inside her body.

"I--"

He kissed away whatever she might have said.

Wufei's arms shifted around Quatre's body as the Chinese man wiggled into a more comfortable sleeping position. On the other side of the bed, Duo and Trowa were likewise embraced, and all would be fine and dandy if that blasted 'clickaty-clack' of keyboard keys weren't keeping them all awake.

"Dammit, Heero, come to bed already before I go over there and render that laptop obsolete," Quatre growled sleepily.

The typing paused.

"You wouldn't."

"Would you like to test that theory?"

A quick splattering of keys fired off as the bed started to rustle with stirring bodies before the laptop slammed shut. "I was just turning it off," Heero said, the bed dipping under his weight.

"Hn."

"Really."

"What were you doing anyway?" Duo murmured, hugging Trowa tighter.

"Trying to get into Sanc's security cameras."

"Trying?" Trowa picked up.

There was something sounding like a grumble originating from the center of the bed. "I was unsuccessful," Heero finally admitted.

That caught everybody's attention. "Really?"

"Hai."

"Hn. I wonder why..."

The smirking pride could be heard in his voice when Wufei answered, "Trinity's been updating Sanc's systems."

"Aahh..."

"Ah, well," Duo tried to console his pouting husband. "It could be worse. It could've been Mara J doin' the up gradin'. At least this way you still have a *chance* of getting in."

There was a snickering from somewhere in the bed.

For appearance's sake they were sharing a room. Something they hadn't done in over three years. She was busily taking off her jewelry and then her make-up as he watched helplessly. Finally he asked, "How's your mother?"

"Dying," she replied sharply.

"I'm sorry," he said, really meaning it. "It must be hard for you seeing her like this."

Lucrezia Noin sighed heavily, dropping her hands to the vanity and looking down. "What do you want, Zechs?" she asked, her voice sounding as tired as she looked suddenly.

"I want you to come home," he said simply.

"My mother needs me."

"I need you, too."

"No you don't," she snapped. "You never needed *me*. You needed someone to make you feel better about *yourself*. I can't be that person anymore, Zechs. I don't have anything more to give you, don't you understand that. I'm all dried out, you sucked me dry."

"Noin--"

"No." In the mirror he could see her squeeze her eyes tighter. "Please, no, I can take this now. I can't, Zechs. I've had enough. I don't want to do this anymore."

Because she wasn't looking, she didn't notice when he stood and walked to where she was, but she started when his hands fell onto her shoulders. She looked at his reflection in the mirror.

"Come home," he repeated. "Bring your mother and come home, please."

"Zechs--" Her voice broke.

He fell to his knees, his arms wrapping around her middle as he pressed his head against her back. "Don't leave me, Noin. Please don't leave me."

Tears rolled down both bodies' cheeks as they realized their marriage was more than just dying as their one and only son got ready to start out his married life on the coming dawn.
