Disclaimer: Gundam Wing and its characters belong to Bandai, Sunrise and Sotsu Agency and are only being used for non-profit entertainment purposes. References to printed texts, films, sitcoms, musical pieces, and/or other fanfictions don't belong to the author either. Original Characters, including but not limited too, the Berh Siblings, Jake Mazzolla and "the chibis", are original and hence, the author's own creation.
Notes: This is the story of the children, the nine children of the 6 gundam pilots (Heero--Zechs) plus the grandchild of Treize Khushrenada. This story will not focus primarily on the characters from the series, but rather, the generation after them. This story is not for all die-hard fans, but runs along the lines of a more original piece.
Additional Note: 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 often times refer to each other as "husband"; please refer back to "Promise of the Rings" Part 15 if this causes confusion.
Additional Note 2: The chibis often times refer to their parents' friends and partners as "Uncle" or "Aunt"--in this case, the term is used simply as one of respect since, with the exception of Kit & Adrian's relation to Relena and all of Quatre's sisters, none of the parents have siblings.

Heirs to the Legacy I by Andrea Readwolf

Part Thirty-Two

~ December 12, AC 227~

"Okay, now this is all going to be really simple, okay? There are eight beats separating you from the person before and after you. The music starts, you wait eight beats, then the first couple goes, wait eight beats and then the next couple goes. Got it? Each beat is a step. Here, let's hear the music so you can better see what I'm saying."

Mara Jade rolled her eyes. The poor frazzled man who was coordinating this affair was underestimating their intelligence. She hated that. What was worse was it seemed he planned on them actually acting everything out! It would take hours before she got to that dinner her sister promised her. She shifted, consciously aware of her jeans rasping against itself. Well, there was one good thing-at least she didn't have to wear that dress tonight, too. Tomorrow would be bad enough.

Hmm… Tristan hadn't seen her dress yet. She wondered what his expression would be when he saw her tomorrow, all deck out in Trinity's finery.

The first beats of Pachabel's Canon in D started up as the wedding coordinator counted off loudly, "ONE, two, three, four, ONE, two, three, four and go! Two, three four, ONE, two, three, four and NEXT! Two, three, four, ONE, two, three, four and NEXT! Two, three, four…"

She watched as first Calista and Julian started off separately from different back corners of the large room, and then Nicole and Dylan followed. When Callie and Julian met at the back of the center aisle, Kit and Triton were just starting out. Another eight beats and it was her turn to step. Sixteen beats later she was standing next to Tristan as they turned down the center aisle. It took two minutes of slow, one-beat stepping for Callie and Jules to reach the end of the aisle. Then Nikki and Dylan, followed by Kit and Try, and finally she and Tristan got there.

Adrian stepped down the aisle and when he stood next to Tristan, the canon faded.

"Very nicely done, everybody! Very nicely done! Now, here's where the bride and her father enter," the wedding coordinator gushed.

"Duh," Mara Jade muttered and received a teasing push from Kit.

"Be nice," the older dark-haired girl replied. Mara Jade stuck her tongue out at her.

Heero and Trinity stood at the back of the church, waiting as the coordinator directed them. "Now, your song will come on and that's when you'll begin your walk, okay? You want to be smiling, now, none of this frowning-"

Everyone almost gasped when the poor unsuspecting man slapped Heero's checks playfully, telling him to 'smile!' Trinity was there, however, squeezing her father's hand and whispering something. Instead of the certain death most everyone was expecting, Heero Yuy grinned, and the wedding coordinator went on, never knowing how close to death he'd come.

"You step, step, step, all the way until you get down here," the man was saying, walking down the center aisle. "Here you meet up with His Majesty, Daddy-kins gives you a kiss for good luck and then hands you over. There! Like that. Then we have the ceremony, the unity candle, the prayer and blessings, the coronation of the queen, followed by more prayer and blessings, and finally the recessional. All good? Everyone know what they're doing? The Royal Sank March will play and our King and new Queen will lead the way out, followed by their maids and grooms. Their Majesties will enter the carriage that will take them around the corner and to the back while everyone is filing out and heading over to the palace for the reception. Then Their Majesties will re-enter the church and will take their wedding pictures. Everyone will then get back on the carriages to return to the palace where more pictures will be taken and the media stands are set up. Then you'll all have a wonderful time at the reception. Sound good?"

"YES! Can we eat now?"

Everyone turned to look at Mara Jade, who flushed prettily. Tristan went up to her, rubbing her shoulders and back gently as he stood behind her, while Triton asked the coordinator another question.

"You okay?" Tristan murmured as Mara Jade visibly relaxed into his touch.

"Mmm," she purred, eyes drifting shut. "Just tired and hungry."

"Ah, well," Tristan's voice teased next to her ear as he stepped close behind her and pulled her back against him so her weight was resting on his chest as his hands clasped over her stomach. "We can't have that, can we?"

"Get a room, you two," Callie quipped, rolling her eyes. Tristan just smiled at his sister.

"Well, if that's all, then I will see everyone here tomorrow at 10:30!" the coordinator announced cheerfully.

The wedding party groaned. "Eleven-thirty? Why so early?" But they were all anxious to eat and didn't wait around for the answer, instead chanting, "Food!"

It took an half an hour to get back to the palace, but once there, dinner was a wonderful spread just waiting for them to enjoy.

"Okay, minna, bring your plates over this way," Trinity commanded as the small gathering that had just arrived from the church were busily piling their plates high with food. "Adrian and I would like to thank you all for being there for us all our lives and especially this last year and right now, for our wedding," the dark haired young woman continued as everyone settled into seats in the private room.

"The shirts look really great," she added, plucking at her own white "BRIDE" shirt and smoothing the sleeve of Adrian's "GROOM" black shirt. Kit, Nikki, and Callie each had a matching white Bridesmaid shirt while Triton, Dylan, and Julian sported black Grooms shirts. Mara Jade and Tristan wore special "Maid of Honor" and "Best Man" shirts. Even the parents were decked out in wedding party shirts: Zechs in his 'Father of the Groom' and Duo and Wufei in their 'Father of the Bride' shirts. Heero sported a special Father of the Bride shirt with a long lament:

"I'm the Father of the Bride and I need your help…I'm in a deep state of shock and can't dial for myself so please call 1-800-BIG-LOAN for my-Thanks!"

"As a special little 'thank you,'" Adrian picked up, "I managed to wrangle some time out of my very busy schedule to find these for you." He handed each of the groomsmen a wrapped present.

"What? You mean you didn't get your wedding coordinator extraordinar to select the perfect grooms' gifts?" Tristan teased, accepting the one his friend handed him.

"These are just one of the many small things I stressed over during these last four months," Trinity added, handing out her gifts to the girls with a special smile for her sister.

"And of course, something for you, too," She continued, handing more gifts out to her fathers, before frowning. "I have something for Uncle Quatre and Uncle Trowa, too, when they get here."

"They said they were waiting for Noin at the airport," Zechs offered, a small frown accompanying the thought of his absent wife.

"Something for you, too, Dad," Adrian called out, tossing a gift towards Zechs.

"And there's special rose bath sets in all the girls' bathrooms for tonight!" the young bride added excitedly.

"Wow! You really went all out," Callie commented, sniffing the scented candles and eyeing the special jewelry the girls got before glancing over to see the pewter key chains and pewter and glass engraved beer mugs the boys had received.

"All out on what?" her father asked, walking in.
