Mara Jade Chang carefully lined up the tiny, colorful beads until the design she was trying to make finally took shape. Cautiously, she covered the beads with wax paper before applying heat with an iron. She repeated this process eight more times until she was completely satisfied with her work-not to mention out of beads.

"It's supposed to be a dragon," she told Wufei, wrinkling her nose.
He just smiled, hugged her, and thanked her as he fastened the snake-looking, melted-plastic thing to his key ring.
