No warnings except the yaoi. This one is old. I've been working on it on and off for about 6 months. Finally got back to it due to reading several great vamp fics on the net. Thanks guys. Let me know what you think. Please enjoy.

I don't own the GW guys. I'm poor. This story is for entertainment only.

Vampires by Phoenix

Part 3

Heero awoke just as the sunset. The hunger he felt was less than last night, but it still sought to cloud his mind. Sensing Wufei would sleep until midnight, the Japanese pilot left to find dinner. Two miles to the east, four human hearts beat. Well, he could change that.

With inhuman speed, the new vampire approached his future victims. He would need to bring at least one of them back for his new creation. Last night, Heero had forced Wufei to drink his blood. A great deal of his blood. The pilot didn't know how much it took to make a victim change and felt better giving his friend too much rather than too little. He'd bled until he felt light-headed, then let Wufei sleep while he hunted. There were two less OZ soldiers in world. As Heero found his next meal, he knew four more would die tonight.

A grim smile crossed his features as the soldiers saw him and raised their guns. Seconds later three lay unconscious and the fourth knelt on the ground, Heero's fangs suck deep in his neck. The soldier gave a final whimper as his heart beat faltered and stopped. Draining the last of the warm, red liquid from the body, the Asian man listened to his enemy's death. He should be happy. Very little could do him serious harm; aging and growing too large for his Gundam were no longer a problem; his speed and strength were superhuman and would increase through the years. Yet, he was not happy.

Someday OZ would be defeated. Then who would Heero and his friends feed from? The thought occupied the young man as he dragged the three prisoners back to Wufei. None of the pilots were murderers; they killed because they had to not because they took any enjoyment from it. Indeed, even killing in battle was getting to Quatre and Duo. Wufei had a cause to fight for, Trowa was raised by mercenaries and learned long ago not to allow things to touch his soul; Heero did what was necessary and tried not to think about it later. Duo and Quatre had lived the most normal lives of all of them and so didn't have a way to keep themselves whole.

What would they do after the war? He was no closer to a solution when he reached the cave. The two bigger men were placed almost on top of the Chinese man. It would be a bad idea to make Wufei search for his first kill. Heero shuddered as he remembered wanting to kill his friend, wanting only to never feel the end of the warm blood flowing down his throat. Yes, better to leave his first meal right next to the new vampire.

The third man died when Heero got tired of waiting for midnight. A snack would distract him and take his mind off the future. Besides, the pilot reasoned, if they were going to go after Trowa and Quatre tonight, he would need his strength. The man's death came far to quickly. With cold contempt, he threw the body out of the cave like a sack of garbage and went back to waiting.

Soon, the vampire felt midnight approach. It was like a fire in his blood, singing in his veins, filling him with power. Heero turned red eyes on the still shape of his fellow vampire. A small glow covered the form then faded. Nothing happened. The Japanese man had just begun considering the possibility he had not succeeded in turning Wufei into a vampire when the slender warrior's eyes flew open. There were no signs of intelligence in those dark pools, only a soul deep, burning hunger.

A low growl echoed in the cave. Almost faster than Heero could track, the Chinese man leapt upon one unconscious man and feasted. Like a man dying of thirst, Wufei drank. Not a single drop of blood touched the ground. At last, Wufei swallowed the last mouthful of the soldier's life. Slowly, he turned to the second part of his meal. He stared at the enemy for a long time before standing and turning to Heero.

"We will administer Justice, Heero," Wufei said calmly as he lifted his next victim. "When the war is over, we will use criminals for food. They shall pay for their crimes; we will see to it." Then he started drinking from his new victim.

Heero could only stare in shock. How had Wufei known what he was thinking? Was there some sort of bond between vampires?

'I can hear your thoughts, Yuy,' Wufei's annoyed voice filled Heero's mind. 'I don't know why and I don't care. All that guilt you feel for almost killing me? Forget about it. This wasn't your idea or mine, but it happened and I can think of many ways to turn this to our advantage. If what you learned from the old vampire is right, we will be more than a match for OZ. Now shut up and let me eat! I haven't been this hungry is years and I'm going to need my strength when we go after the others later,'

With that the sense of contact disappeared. The knowledge from the old vampire had included a warning that every vampire had a different skill; each one would be born with a gift. Telepathy must be Wufei's. It would come in handy when they took Quatre. The young Arab's Space Heart was very powerful. Maybe telepathy could confuse it somehow. Still, if they took Trowa first, Quatre would probably surrender just to be with his love. Duo would be the only one left after tonight.

Heero wanted to take them all at the same time, but he doubted he could produce enough blood to change three people at a time. No, Duo's turn would come tomorrow. By this time tomorrow, four vampires would bring Duo into their world of blood. The slender pilot's blood would flow and be replaced. The American would join them forever. Heero could hardly wait.

End Part 3

Poor Trowa, Quatre, and Duo. They have no idea what is headed their way. Can any amount of training counter the sheer power of these two vampires?
