Disclaimer: I don't own GW or any anime series in this fic or at all. I'm poor, that should prove my point. This story is for entertainment only. It has yaoi, yuri, lemon, lime, cherries, apples (OK I am being silly), but it does have lemon and lime and yaoi and yuri. It also has some NCS. (Don't argue with me, I'm in a bad mood.) If you can't deal, don't read. You have been warned!
Once, long ago, there lived a King. This King, King Maxwell, had a wizard named G. Upon the birth of his son, Duo, the King asked his wizard to look into his son's future and see what dangers lie ahead. G predicted that if Duo did not find a spouse within one year of reaching his majority a terrible curse would befall the young man. Making matters worse was the news that they could not begin the search until the year Duo reached majority. They would have exactly one year.
As G left the throne room, he was laughing silently to himself. That would teach the pompous blowhard. How dare he cut G's pay in half!? Well this little prophecy would be interesting. It was all a lie of course. The King would spend years worrying for no reason. Upon reaching his room, the wizard burst out laughing. The revenge was so perfect. At least, that's what he thought.
The years passed quickly. Duo grew to become an exceptionally beautiful man. He was caring, funny, and compassionate. G came to care deeply for the Prince; the wizard treated Duo like his own son. The Prophecy often caused the young heir immense pain and G regretted it deeply.
The King had set out to have more sons because Duo would be cursed and succeeded. There were now seven Princes, all treated better than Duo. King Maxwell did love Duo, but he feared becoming attached to someone he felt sure to lose. The Queen died when Duo was two and the next Queen was more concerned with her sons than the one person standing between them and the throne. So Duo suffered. Loved for his beauty and hated for who he was.
The day before Duo reached his majority was marked by massive activity. The King, determined not to lose his son, prepared the best messengers and gave them announcements about Duo's new eligibility for marriage. Each piece of paper praised the young man's beauty and told the recipient that any, and the King stressed any, applicant was welcome as long as they had royal blood. Male or female mattered not at all to the King; he needed to find someone for Duo and it had to be done soon.
At midnight on Duo's birthday, the messengers left. King Maxwell watched them go and felt a pang of fear. There were only twelve. He had conquered most of the world and few kingdoms still existed. The strength of his kingdom, however, would be one of his son's best selling points. Many of the neighboring rulers would jump at this chance to ally themselves with him. Their rulers would not care that Duo was male. They would want the power he inherited as the Heir. Sighing, the King returned to his room and tried to not have nightmares.
>From his tower, G watched the messengers ride away. Another pang of guilt wrapped around his heart. He'd never expected to like Duo and now the poor boy was being sold off to the highest bidder due to his petty revenge. Turning from the window, G faced his guests. H, J, S, O and Howard were the most powerful wizards in all the world and he had called them here several weeks ago. Hidden, they had observed the young Crown Prince; now they would give their decision.
"We will help you," Howard smiled. "Prince Duo deserves better than what his father has planned." All the wizards smiled. "The kid really grows on you. We will wait for everyone to arrive and then we shall start our work."
G laughed and the others joined in. If everything worked out Duo would be very happy. Fate seldom lets things go that simply though. Far away, in a dark, silent, cold tower, a pair of glowing eyes watched the young Prince sleep.
"Soon," something rasped, "soon my little one, you will be all mine. Mind and soul. Oh yes, and that luscious body of yours will be mine as well." In the darkness, evil, insane laughter echoed.
