Summary: Pargan has Duo and gives him to Zechs.
Duo fought for consciousness, but every time he managed a foot hole, that bastard Pargan filled him with more drugs. All the young man could get were flashes in between periods of darkness. Things like being stripped, what he thought must have been a very through bath given that he woke up twice during it, someone brushing his hair, and cold metal being fastened around his neck and wrists.
There were also words. The butler's companions seemed rather impressed with their captive's determination. Once or twice he heard jokes made at his expense before slipping back into drugged slumber. Finally, the world cleared a bit.
The bodyguard awoke on his left side facing a blank, white wall and struggled to move but found his limbs felt like lead; yet his senses were clear. Too clear.
"What did you do to me?" He asked to whoever was casting a shadow on the wall. Or at least tried to ask. The words came out slurred even though Duo knew he was thinking properly.
"A simple drug my compatriot, Doctor J created." Pargan's voice filled his ears and Duo tried to turn his head to find him. It was a wasted effort. "It acts in two ways. First, your body is somewhat paralyzed. All automatic responses and systems work, which is why you don't suffocate. What is most remarkable though is the fact that at the same time, certain areas of your brain become hyper active. Especially those dealing with your senses. Thus it seems as if everything is clearer, shaper. You'll feel things far more greatly than ever before."
A shudder shook the young man at the dark implications in the statement.
"That's right, Duo." A hand ran down his side causing him to inhale sharply. He could almost feel the pads of Pargan's fingerprints. "So sensitive. It is going to be very enjoyable watching what Zechs does with you. Remember our deal. You don't fight him and even if he kills you, nothing will happen to your friends."
The sound of footsteps and a door closing signaled the older man's retreat. For the first time, Duo had a chance to really think about his situation. From what he could feel, he was on a soft bed, arms cuffed behind his back and a metal collar around his neck. Another shudder worked its way down his back; he was also naked, hair unbound.
What kind of mercy could he expect of a cold-blooded killer? One who didn't even have human emotions? At best, the monster would just kill him as he had the others. Worse case scenario meant Zechs might try something, but lack of experience could work in Duo's favor. If he was hurt badly enough, he might just die. Better that than to be the bastard's toy for the rest of his life.
Not giving up, the young man continued trying to get his body to respond. He needed more information if he was ever going to escape. Or at least fight back long enough to make Pargan and his cronies pay for this. If he was lucky, he might even find a way to contact Treize and the others. IF he was lucky. No matter what, though, he was not going to give up. That creepy old freak wasn't going to win this easily.
As Duo fought to regain his freedom, another sort of contest was taking place down the hall. Zechs was being debriefed by Pargan. Nothing unusual. However, this time, the killer had questions; ones he fought to keep silent.
Something was changing in him ever since first fighting the longhaired bodyguard. Normally nothing existed outside of his orders. Once a job was completed, he was debriefed and slept until the next one. Now questions filled his mind.
Why had they attacked the palace? Why wasn't he allowed to kill his opponents? They used live ammo so it was no training exercise. And why had the trainers taken part? They never went on missions with him.
Zechs droned on about his actions in monotone instead of saying anything. For the first time he had no confidence in the man who raised him. Pargan was up to something and was not trustworthy. But where did that leave him? The man knew words that could totally immobilize him. Worse, some words took away his conscious control.
The blond thought it odd these things never bothered him before. Many things never bothered him before meeting Duo. Just the name was enough to cause a stir in the deepest parts of his mind. What was it about the bodyguard that so affected him? Perhaps those violet eyes? They had struck deeply into his soul the first time he saw them. Was that why he was dreaming?
All his life sleep had been an empty blank; nothing but darkness filled his mind as he rested. Now, though, the nights were filled with visions of fighting, laughter, adventure, and love. People his soul knew stood side by side as a fire raged around them. A thief was captured by Zechs and his partner only to become their lover. Swords flashed in the moonlight. But were these fantasies or remembrances? And if they were memories, from when?
Finally he was done with his report. Pargan dismissed him with a strange smile saying a gift awaited his attention. Not understanding, the assassin followed his keeper down the hall. Being locked in again did not appeal to the killer, yet there was little he could do. The old man could speak a few words and leave Zechs unconscious should he try anything. Besides, there was time. For now, it was not so bad to be alone and dream of long hair, violet eyes, and whispered words of affection.
Reaching his room, however, revealed a sight from one of his more shocking dreams. Duo lay naked on his side, hair pooling around him, hands bound, and a metal collar locking him to the bed. Zechs was barely able to suppress a growl. How dare anyone treat Duo in this manner?
Stalking across the room, he gathered the prisoner in his arms, doing his best to shield him from the many cameras hidden in the walls. The action caused trembling to claim the slender bodyguard; he could almost smell the fear rising off that pale skin. At the same time, a new object in the room caught cold blue eyes. A large jar of lubricant had been placed on the pillow next to Duo. They were expecting him to just roll the young man over and ravage him. Fury ripped through his mind and this time a growl did echo in the air.
Suddenly he was back in one of the dreams as a violet-eyed thief was used as a punching bag and toy while he and his other lover were forced to watch. The protectiveness he felt then came flashing back and all but took over his mind. No one was going to hurt Duo like that again. No one.
"Enjoy your gift," Pargan crowed and left, locking the door behind him.
Duo tried to stop shivering, but being held by someone who cared for nothing and killed with ease did little to steady his emotional state. Helplessness did not appeal to the young man and the drug was only making things worse. When strong hands began to caress his back in slow, soothing motions, he almost screamed. The contact was heightened by what Pargan had done. Already he could feel warmth pooling in his guts.
"They will not harm you," the killer's deep voice filled his ears. "I won't let them." He nuzzled gently at the top of Duo's head. "Such soft hair. Like a kitten's. Do you purr?" He wondered absently. "And you smell so good." His focus shifted to Duo's neck, nose rubbing against sensitive skin.
However the attention only made the shaking worse and a small whine made it past Duo's clenched lips. He really was trying to behave; nothing was worth endangering his friends. Yet, fear kept racing though him. Any second he expected Zechs to snap his neck or just throw him on his stomach and start raping. The declaration of protectiveness made no sense, confusing the already frightened young man.
At the whine, Zechs pulled back, for the first time truly looking at the bound form. Dilated eyes told him all he needed to know.
"Shhh." He pitched his voice even lower. "I want to hold you. Just hold you."
And that was all he did want. Perhaps later he might explore those things done in the dreams, but for now he needed to sort out what he was feeling and why. Having Duo so close sent emotions raging through him and he was not used to it. Training left him very reluctant to act quickly and there would be time later to learn about this man.
Rocking slowly, Zechs tried to soothe the man in his arms. There would be time later. Later.
