Disclaimers: I don't own GW. I own nothing. Not even my often gone sanity. Beware of yaoi and dark stuff. Also beware of people offering you candy, investments, and corncobs.

The are some things that have snuck into my head. Are any of them worth expanding?

Changes in Fate

Duo fired the last of his arrows at the dragon and was gratified to see one pierce the beast's yellow eye. The creature howled in pain, but could not seek retribution as another, smaller dragon seized its throat in crushing jaws. The last thing the malevolent creature saw before death claimed it was the braided elf's grim, triumphant smile.

The elf watched Quatre dash the monster against the mountain and then, certain his partner would not need him, entered the dragon's lair. Behind him, the rest of the team followed, their pace far slower. None of the others could feel the agony emanating for the prisoners within.

Treize and Zechs disarmed the magic holding each cell closed. Every time they opened one, a sense of hope overwhelmed them, only to be extinguished as each held strangers. Duo danced ahead of them pointing out which spaces held the living and which they were too late to help.

Finally, Duo's shout brought the fighters running. The cell he stood before was heavily shielded and warded. All eyes turned to the elf.

"They're in they," he proclaimed excitedly. "All of them. I can feel it."

Working as a team, they had the door opened in less than a candlemark. Inside, hanging from chains, covered in dried blood, were the men they'd come for.

"Gods," Zechs swore softly.

The simple sound awoke the prisoners. Five pairs of dull eyes stared at the gathered rescuers. Then the one with green eyes whispered something that shattered their hopes and souls.

"Are you the new masters?"
