"Five dollars a week?" said Mulan.
"Yes, that's your allowance," said Wufei.
"But candy bars are a dollar each... And art supplies are even more expensive... "
"Your mother buys you the art supplies you need and we buy everything else."
"But I need more money for art books, posters and models... "
"My decision is final... " said Wufei.
Mulan flared her nostrils.
Sally narrowed her eyes. Oh, oh, she thought.
Duo and Heero were having coffee with Sally and Wufei when Mulan came in with a spiral notebook. "What is it, Mulan?" said Wufei with an impending sense of dread.
"Would you sign my petition?" she said, handing them the notebook.
"What kind of petition?" said Duo. He flipped through pages of scrawled and printed names that often were simply first names. He noticed Fuyuka's scrawl on one of the pages.
Heero craned his neck. "It's a petition for a raise in Mulan's allowance. Looks like there's dozens of signatures from her classmates."
"No justice, no peace," said Mulan.
Heero laughed while Duo and Sally looked knowingly at Wufei.
"Mulan, go to your room!" Then he noticed the looks everybody else was giving him. "Why? Why are you looking at me for?"
