Wow! I guess I had a little GW in me after all! This is rough and probably won't go anywhere further than what I've got now; it's just something I dashed off to get the idea out of my head.
Warnings: Kind of sad, not really dark but not a happy ending, either. Bad language.
"What the hell's going on here?"
Heero flinched, then continued packing his few items of clothing into his duffel bag. "I'm leaving."
"Yeah, well that much is obvious, Sherlock," Duo snapped, slamming the door behind him and crossing the room to plant a hand in the middle of Heero's bag. Heero reluctantly met his eyes. "What I want to know is *why*."
"Duo... you're in the way."
"Oh, no you don't, Mister Ice-Wouldn't-Melt-in-My-Mouth. I want to know what's going on in that stubborn head of yours, and I'm not budging until you tell me."
Heero wordlessly grabbed Duo's wrist, pulled his hand out of the way, and deposited the last of his shirts into the bag. "Duo. Tell me something."
"What."
"What are the main things you want to change about me?"
"Well, for one thing, you could show a little emotion now and then and not act like such a fucking machine. Be a little more human, for Christ's sake!"
"I'm as human as anybody else."
"And I wish you wouldn't take everything so fucking literally! I'm talking about expressing yourself. You never let anyone know what you're thinking or feeling. And if I could wave a magic wand, you'd get rid of that fucking laptop, too."
"Is that all?"
"That's the main stuff."
"Ah."
"Oh, what now?" Duo watched, crossing his arms irritably as Heero zipped up the duffle bag and hauled it onto his shoulder. "So you know what I'd change about you. Go ahead, I know you're just dying to tell me the things you want to change about me."
"Duo..." Heero said, giving Duo a sad smile. "I don't want to change anything about you at all. I never did." Duo stood dumbstruck as Heero gave him a kiss--the barest brush of lips against his cheek--and then headed toward the door.
"Heero, wait!"
Heero paused, then continued on his way, closing the door softly behind him. He'd left his laptop behind. Duo laughed, a choked-off, painful sound, as it occurred to him that Heero had done a damn good job expressing his emotions, after all.
