Duo felt a tug on his pant leg while he was setting the table for Saturday lunch. Heero was cooking fried rice.
"Daddy?"
He looked down to see Fuyuka looking up at him. She was dressed in a pink shirt with red overalls with little a yellow chick on the front with the words "Piyo, piyo" sewn underneath it. "Yes, Fu?"
"I want you to help me with something."
"What?"
"Mr. Teddy and Bunny need to get married."
"Huh?"
"I need someone to say the words to marry them," explained Fuyuka.
Duo finished setting the table, then walking behind Fuyuka. Heero, curious, turned off the range and decided watch from the doorway.
All of Fuyuka's animal friends were lined up in rows while Mr. Teddy and Bunny, a large rabbit plushie dressed in a wide-brimmed hat and summer dress, were in front. Duo smiled and said, "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join this teddy bear and bunny rabbit in holy matrimony. Do you, Mr. Teddy take Bunny Rabbit as your lawfully wedded wife?"
"I do," said Fuyuka in an imitation of a low voice.
"Do you Bunny Rabbit take Mr. Teddy as your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do," said Fuyuka in a higher voice.
"Well I know pronounce you husband and wife," said Duo.
Fuyuka clapped her hands.
Heero smiled from the doorway, looking terribly amused.
Duo turned to Heero and said, "Hey, someday, Fuyuka's going to have one of these."
Heero looked surprised, then his eyes got really shiny and his lower lip trembled slightly. He turned quickly and said, "I have to check on the rice."
"Heero?" said Duo.
