Jesse turned around to look into icy blue eyes filled with barely controlled rage. He'd expected Todd to react unfavorably to a relationship of this nature between him and Cara, but he'd hoped that it wouldn't be this bad; Todd's furious gaze told him his hoping had been in vain.
"Cara," the blonde boy snapped angrily, "we're going home. Now."
Before Cara could say anything, Todd reached out and grabbed her wrist, forcing her to follow him as he made his way back to the table where the other boys were sitting; they had left the dance floor once they realized slow songs were being played. Heero, Duo, and Wufei were still sitting where they had been when Todd had shot out of his chair to go after Cara. Trowa, Quatre, Toby and Kyle had just sat down in the remaining seats, not expecting to be sitting for long as soon as the song was over and more upbeat music began. All of them watched as Todd pulled Cara with him over to them.
Jesse followed behind the siblings. His mind was still whirling from the confession of love Cara had made, but he was sure of one thing; he was not going to lose her now that he knew she cared for him like he did her. He watched Todd and wondered for the umpteenth time why the blonde boy hated him so much. As he stopped a few steps away from Cara, he decided it really didn't matter. No matter what Todd said, he was going to be there for Cara because she needed him... because she loved him.
"It was a pleasure meeting all of you," Todd announced civilly, "but I'm afraid it's time for us to leave."
"No!" Cara yelled as she yanked her arm free. "I'm not going anywhere with you!"
Todd turned to face her. "I have had enough of your back-talking! You ARE going home, and you will NOT be coming back!"
"Why?" she demanded.
"You lied to me!" Todd grated out, wanting to shake her he was so angry. "How long has this been going on, Cara? You told me that you and Jesse were only friends? Have you been seeing each other all this time behind my back? Have you slept with him yet?"
Cara's hand struck in one swift motion, the sound of it meeting Todd's cheek audible in spite of the loud music. "How dare you accuse me! That was our first kiss! Jesse has been nothing but decent and respectful to me. I have been so afraid to tell him how I felt because I knew you would act this way. He didn't even know of my feelings until tonight, and he certainly wouldn't have taken advantage of me even if he had known. He loves me, Todd. He's always loved me."
Todd's hand was still rubbing his reddened face as he spoke harshly. "And I don't? I've done nothing but try to make sure you're safe and taken care of. Everything I've done has been for your protection, Cara."
"My protection?" Cara said incredulously. "Let's tell the truth for once, Todd. You do everything out of your own bitterness and anger. You don't even know what it's like to enjoy life anymore because all you can do is try to blame someone for it not being what you want it to be. It's not Jesse's fault that our parents are dead! It was an accident, and nothing you do will ever bring our parents back. Why can't you just accept that and move on? Why can't you let me be happy? What gives you the right to be so damn selfish? I miss them too, but I'm not going to quit living just because they died."
Todd felt those words pierce his heart like a knife, but he refused to relent. "We are going home."
"I am not going with you," Cara said defiantly, her eyes burning with determination. "I will apply for emancipation, if that's what it takes, Todd. I won't let you keep me and Jesse apart just because you think you can. I love him, and I will not give him up, not for you, not for anyone."
"I am still your guardian until you are a legal adult," Todd said through clenched teeth.
"And I wish you never had become my guardian," Cara replied, tears spilling from her eyes, "then maybe I would have a brother who loved me instead of a stranger who doesn't even care about my feelings!"
"That's enough!" Wufei announced as he stepped forward. His hand went to Todd's shoulder, causing the blonde to flinch at the firm grip. Todd turned to look at him as Wufei continued, "You both need to calm down before you say things that shouldn't be said. You are hurt and angry, and you should not allow those feelings to speak for you." He gave both of them a level look then turned his attention solely to Todd. "You are leaving with me. Right now."
Todd bristled. "I don't know who the hell you think you are, but..."
"You're going with Wufei, Todd," Heero interrupted, walking towards them. Todd and Wufei both looked at him. "I'll make sure Jesse gets Cara home safely at a decent hour."
Todd glowered at the former Gundam pilot, but he met a determined blue glare that put his to shame. Looking back at Wufei, kohl eyes told him silently that he had lost this battle. He growled in frustration as he stalked off, heading for the exit across the room.
"It has been a pleasure, but I believe I will take my leave now," Wufei stated lightly. He nodded at his former comrades and new 'crew' family members, before turning to Cara. "I'll make sure he gets calmed down before I bring him home."
"Thank you, Wufei," the blonde girl sniffed, her grip on Jesse still tight.
Wufei gave her a stern yet compassionate look. "I do not agree with how your brother has handled this, but I don't approve of your actions either, young lady. Your brother loves you more than you can ever know. Maybe you should try to look at the world through his eyes before you judge him so harshly."
Cara began to say something then stopped as she saw the seriousness in Wufei's eyes. Instead of trying to defend herself, she just nodded, wondering why she didn't want to defy him as much as she did Todd. Before she could think anymore about it, Wufei walked away, trying to catch up with her blonde sibling.
Quatre stood and walked over to Cara, resting his hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry. If anyone can get through to Todd, Wufei can."
"Yeah," Duo added as he approached them, "Fei will not let him get away with being unjust to Jesse. I don't envy Todd the lecture he's about to get." Duo had to smile just thinking about it.
"Well, I don't know about you all," Kyle interjected, "but I'm not going to let this ruin my evening. The slow set is over, and they are playin' some jammin' music, y'all!"
The others stopped to listen to the heavy techno-pop beat that was bouncing off the walls. Toby grinned at his lover. "Then by all means, let's get down with it, K!"
Trowa walked over to Quatre, running his hand down the blonde boy's back until it reached his hips. "You wanted to dance, so let's dance."
Quatre leaned back into his lover's touch. "Your wish is my command... Teasin' Tro," the blonde answered, taking off for the floor, his hips swaying suggestively as he chuckled at Trowa's surprised expression.
Trowa looked over at Heero and smirked. "I'll have to thank you for the nick. I have a feeling it's going to come in handy from time to time." With that, the brown-haired boy strode off to catch his Arabian partner.
Heero turned to look at Jesse and Cara. "Are you two going to be all right? Do you want to leave now?"
Cara shook her head. "No. I want to stay. If I go home, all I'll do is think about Todd and our fight. I just want to forget it for a while, you know?"
Heero nodded. "All right, but I did promise that I would make sure you got home in one piece, okay?"
Jesse smiled. "Thanks, Heero. It means a lot that you guys were willing to stick up for us."
"Just don't let that trust be unfounded, Jess," Duo warned, his expression still kind, but his voice serious. "I know what it's like to be in love, but sometimes you have to think things through before you act. Cara is still underage, and I would hate for you two to do something you'd both regret, yanno?"
"Yeah," Jesse nodded, "I hear what you're saying. Cara and I have to be careful not to let our hormones override our common sense."
Cara agreed. "Exactly. I have school to worry about, and Jesse has college."
"Sometimes being an adult gives you more responsibility than freedom," Heero stated calmly.
"Don't worry, we won't do anything stupid. I can't promise you that we won't try a few things," Jesse said, blushing slightly at the thought, "but we will definitely not be having intercourse until Cara graduates."
Cara grinned. "Oh? We're going to try a few things?" she teased, batting her eyes at Jesse.
Jesse blushed even more. "Maybe... if you want to... but not before we get this all straightened out with Todd. I want things to be right."
"That sounds like a good idea, Jess," Duo said happily.
Cara looked at Jesse and smiled invitingly. "Well, we can at least dance, so..."
Jesse smiled. "That we can... lead the way, Cap'n."
"Be careful, or I just might make you walk the plank!" she hollered over her shoulder as they walked to the dance floor.
Heero and Duo watched them in amusement until they disappeared into the crowd. Duo then leaned over and kissed Heero softly on the cheek. Heero turned to look at him.
"What was that for?" he asked, his voice warm with emotion.
Duo smiled shyly. "I'm just glad that we are legally adults and don't have to worry about anyone trying to keep us apart. I can't imagine what it feels like to love someone and not be able to be with him, or have your family be against it, and make you feel bad about it. It has to be horrible."
Heero reached over and took Duo's hand. "I know. I'm glad too, koi. I don't know if I could stay away from you. I'd have to kidnap you and take you away in spite of what anyone said."
Duo laughed, stepping closer to his lover. "You'd rescue me and then have your way with me at your hideout?" He almost purred at the thought.
Heero could see the mischief glinting in those violet eyes. He felt his body respond to Duo's closeness. "Have my way with you, let you have your way with me, and then do it all over again."
Duo became aroused just thinking about it. He pressed himself against Heero's body, letting the other boy feel his awakening hardness. "You'd let me tie you up? I could strip you naked, use silk scarves to blindfold you, then touch you in ways that would make you scream for release."
Heero groaned, the mental image of that so appealing he could hardly stand it. "Duo."
Duo grinned, sliding his hand over the bulge in Heero's pants. "I told you that you would pay for earlier." With that remark, he pulled away, sauntering towards the crowd. Heero reached down to readjust his erection within its tight confines and followed his longhaired lover. It was going to be a long night, but Heero knew he would enjoy every minute of it.
Wufei closed the door behind them as he and his blonde companion entered his hotel room. Todd walked over to the couch and sat down stiffly. Wufei shook his head. Todd hadn't spoken since they'd left the club. He knew the blonde needed to talk about what was really going on inside him instead of what he had convinced himself the reason for his behavior was. Wufei walked over to stand by one of the easy chairs.
"You want to talk about it?"
Todd gave him a frown. "I have nothing to say to you."
Wufei snorted. "Good. Then you will be able to listen better to what I have to say."
Todd's eyes widened at that, showing his surprise. Wufei took that as an encouraging sign. He sat down in the chair, facing the couch, ordering his thoughts so he could approach this situation properly.
"You remind me of someone I used to know," he began calmly. "She was stubborn, always needing to be right no matter what the cost, never understanding herself enough to accept her own faults yet finding everyone else lacking in ways she thought they shouldn't be."
"I never said I was always right. I just want what's best for Cara," Todd retorted.
"Do you?" Wufei countered, earning a murderous look from the other boy. "You say you do, but your actions suggest that you just want her to do what you want, regardless of how she feels."
"Look, Chang," Todd said as he stood up, "Cara is still just a child. She doesn't even know what she wants, and I'm not going to let her mess up her life because she thinks she's in love."
"You're only nineteen. Since when was eighteen the age of awareness?"
Todd flushed. "You obviously are on her side, so I don't expect you to understand. You're not much older than her, so I can see why you would feel this way."
Wufei's eyes narrowed. "I am older than you in many ways, Morgan. I have trod a path that you will never come across, and I have lived a life that you will never have to, thank goodness, but even so, the reason why I say these things is not to side with Cara. You are her guardian, and she should obey you until she reaches adulthood legally, but you need to understand that adulthood comes to all of us at different times. You cannot judge her as able to take care of herself if you never allow her to do so."
"So I should just turn her loose with Jesse and let them do whatever they wish?"
Wufei shook his head. "No. You should allow her to see him, but express what you expect of them. You need to get to know Jesse, to see if he is trustworthy, before you deem him as not. It is unjust to judge him when you do not know him."
"I don't want to know him!" Todd yelled.
Wufei stood. "Why?"
Todd turned away. "It doesn't matter."
"Yes it does," the black-haired boy stated calmly. "Why don't you want to know him? It seems like he used to be almost part of your family." When Todd still didn't say anything, Wufei added, "I would think that you would want to hold onto him since he and Cara are all you have left."
Todd whirled back around. "My parents were quiet people. They stayed in, didn't go to parties, enjoyed simple things. Then Jesse and his parents moved in. Mom and Dad began going out with them." Todd clenched his fists. "If it hadn't been for them, my parents would have never been out on that road in bad weather. They would be alive today!"
"So you wish for your parents to have never known the joy of friendship just so that you would not have to go through the pain of loss?"
Todd froze. Was that what he wanted? "No. I just want..." He turned away again, gritting his teeth.
"You want what, Todd? You should be happy that you're not alone. When my colony was blown up, not another single member of my clan survived. I was alone. At least, you have her."
"Do I?" Todd countered, turning around again, his face a mixture of anger and pain. "Last time I checked she didn't even claim me for a brother. Not that it matters much. She doesn't spend any time with me anyway, why should it I care if she..." Todd broke off, realizing what he'd just said.
Wufei then understood. "That's it, isn't it? Cara is spending all of her time with Jesse and the others, and you feel left behind. You don't want to be alone, and it scares you to death to think that could happen."
"No," Todd grated out, his hands balling into fists.
"Yes. That's it exactly," Wufei argued. "You're jealous. It's not that you hate Jesse for what happened to your parents. You're jealous that Cara turned to him instead of you. You're afraid you'll lose her too."
"No!" Todd shouted as he launched himself at the Chinese boy. Wufei blocked him easily, grabbing his arms. Twisting them behind the other boy, he pushed him against the wall to pin him.
"You do everything out of fear... fear of betrayal, fear of rejection, and fear of abandonment. Your life has become a continuous cycle of anger, bitterness, and hurt. You have to face this, Todd. You have to, or it will destroy you."
"No," Todd breathed, trying to keep from losing control on his tightly held emotions.
Wufei let him go, backing away. "You must."
Todd felt anger course through him, anger at the truth, anger at his feelings, and anger at himself. He spun around and tackled Wufei to the ground. Wufei shifted his weight and flipped them to where he was straddling the blonde, restraining his arms above his head as the other boy panted beneath him. Todd struggled against him, but Wufei held him securely.
"Damn you!" Todd spat.
"You have to admit it. You have to accept it. You have to alleviate it. You cannot hide from it any longer." Wufei felt desire course through him like he'd never known as he looked down into flaming blue. The anger he saw there was so arousing, he could barely contain his passion. He wanted to own that blue fire that was blazing inside the boy beneath him; he had to.
Todd felt Wufei's body against him. The strength of the other boy overwhelmed him, and a raw aching need tore through him. He began trembling as his eyes met and held with those dark kohl depths. He could see fiery passion there, and suddenly, he wanted it to consume him, to melt his icy prison that had held him captive for so long. He had been hiding from everything; for once, he just wanted to not be afraid.
Wufei saw the change immediately. It was like the way snow melted in the mountains at spring's first touch. He felt himself being drawn down, his body sliding to where he was lying on top of the blonde, as his face moved towards Todd's. He watched as Todd closed his eyes, tipping his chin up in expectation and invitation, a surrendering that went straight through Wufei's heart and groin. With a growl, he lowered his face to claim the blonde's lips in a rough kiss.
Todd moaned as Wufei kissed him, opening his mouth to let the other boy's tongue slip inside. Wufei plundered Todd's mouth, rubbing against Todd's tongue in a heated duel. Todd was thrusting his hips up, trying to gain some friction against his pulsing erection. Wufei's arousal was pressing against him, letting him know exactly what the Chinese warrior wanted; Todd wanted to give it to him. And more.
Wufei was lost in a cloud of desire. Pulling away, he stood, and then reached down to help Todd to his feet. Without saying a word, he led the other boy into the bedroom. Pushing Todd down onto the bed, Wufei began to take off the other boy's clothes. Shoes, socks, shirt, pants, underwear, all became a distant memory, as the black-haired boy stripped his soon-to-be-lover bare, touching his revealed skin as each piece was removed. Wufei's arousal pulsed with every sound of pleasure the other boy made as he caressed him. Once Todd was fully divested, Wufei stood and began to unbutton his shirt.
Todd was so hard he hurt as he watched the other boy slowly bare his golden skin. Wufei's dark eyes smoldered with the intensity of his desire, and Todd moaned just looking at him. Wufei undid his trousers, letting them fall from his slim hips before pushing his boxers down as well. His shoes and socks were removed just as easily. With one final motion, Wufei reached behind his head to pull off his hair tie. Todd gasped as the curtain of black silk fell free, caressing Wufei's face softly.
"Tell me you want me, Todd. Tell me you want me to take you. Tell me you want me to make you feel what you've been denying yourself for too long."
Todd closed his eyes, but unable to clear the incredible image of the boy before him, opened them just as swiftly. One more look was all it took. "Wufei. Please"
Wufei moved towards the bed. "Please what?"
Todd wanted to weep. "Please..."
"You have to tell me, Todd. What do you want?" Wufei voice was husky with need.
Todd growled in frustration. "I want you to fuck me, damn you! I want you to fuck me so hard I scream! Do it, Chang! Just fuck me!"
Wufei smirked in triumph. With the grace of a panther, he stalked to the bed, straddling his blonde again briefly before allowing his body to lower. The delicious feeling of skin on skin overwhelmed them both for a moment. Todd arched his neck, and Wufei took the offering, biting the exposed throat lightly before soothing it with little kisses of apology. Before Todd could protest, the black-haired boy claimed his lips again almost savagely. Todd buried his hands in Wufei's silky hair, never wanting to let go.
Wufei reached over to the nightstand. He was glad he'd had the foresight to bring along certain 'necessities'. Opening the drawer, he felt around for the lube and box of condoms. Deft fingers brought both items within his grasp. Taking the lube, he coated his fingers, never letting up his assault on Todd's mouth and neck as he did so. Moving between the other boy's legs, his finger began tracing a path from Todd's erection, down his balls, to his entrance.
"Wufei... please... just do it..." Todd pleaded, his arousal pulsing with each word.
Wufei pressed his finger inside him slowly before beginning to work it in and out of Todd's body. Soon, he added a second, scissoring them to stretch the opening he would soon be thrusting into. He sought Todd's prostate, grinning when the other boy shot off the bed from him finding it.
"Ahh! Wh-what?" Todd asked, barely able to form a coherent word, let alone a coherent sentence.
"From what I hear, it's a spot that feels really, really good," Wufei replied, brushing against it playfully, making Todd yell again.
"From what you hear? Haven't you done this before?" Todd panted.
Wufei looked down at him and smirked. "No. Have you?" When Todd shook his head, Wufei smiled. "Good." Todd was unable to do anymore than groan in reply as Wufei continued to strike that spot.
When a third finger was inserted, moving in and out with the other two easily, Wufei knew the blonde was ready. He donned a condom, coating it with lube, and positioned himself. Poised above the other boy, Wufei took in the sight before him. Todd was sweaty and flushed, his hair sticking to his forehead, his eyes glazed over with passion; Wufei liked what he saw. He slowly pressed forward, entering Todd for the first time. It was incredible; the heat surrounded his erection, the muscles clenching around him erotically. Wufei knew nothing would ever compare to this.
Todd moaned as Wufei entered him. There was initial pain, but the pleasure of being filled made it fade into the background. He had told Wufei the truth; he'd never had a male lover before, even though he had dated a couple of guys. The feeling of Wufei's arousal pulsing inside of him was amazing, and he knew he would have to have that feeling over and over again. He felt Wufei still, waiting for him to adjust, and the blonde rolled his hips to signal that he was ready. Wufei wasted no time in responding.
"Look at me," Wufei commanded, watching as those heavy lidded blue eyes focused on him. "You're mine. I don't care if we've only met, and I sure as hell don't care if you love me or not yet. You belong to me, from this time forward. Do you understand me, Todd?"
Todd felt Wufei shift, the pleasure coursing through him from just that small motion. "Yes! I'm yours," he replied, not caring if he had to pledge his undying devotion to the black-haired boy. "I belong to you, and you belong to me." His eyes burned blue fire as he spoke the last four words. It would be equal.
Wufei smiled. "And so I do." With that, he pulled out and thrust back inside in one swift motion.
"Yes!" Todd cried out, unable to contain the feeling.
Wufei began thrusting in and out of Todd's body, slowly at first, lengthening his strokes gradually, until he was pulling almost all the way out before thrusting back inside. Todd yelled at each movement, Wufei hitting his prostate almost every time. Before long, Wufei's pace quickened as he began pounding into Todd unmercifully, the blonde shouting his encouragement.
"Fei! Harder! Fuck me harder! Please!"
"Oh yes... so good."
Wufei felt himself beginning to succumb to the feeling of being buried inside Todd's heat. The other boy's inner walls stroked Wufei with each motion, giving him exquisite friction. He reached between them, beginning to stroke Todd's erection as he filled him over and over again with his hardness. He felt Todd tense and knew the other boy was getting ready to release.
Todd felt the pleasure building, stoking inside him as Wufei stroked him inside and out. It began to sweep through him, heat blooming in his groin as his climax began to hit. Wufei finally collapsed, not caring about the mess between them. He felt Todd's arms enfold him. It took Wufei a moment to realize that the blonde was sobbing. Carefully pulling out of his lover, Wufei disposed of the used condom before rolling to the side to gather Todd against him. He held him close, kissing his forehead soothingly as he whispered words of comfort.
"You never have to be afraid of being abandoned, Todd. No matter what, Cara will always love you." He pressed a kiss to the other boy's blonde head. "If that isn't enough, then you always have a place with me."
Todd pulled away, his eyes blurry from his tears. "Why?"
Wufei smiled. "You are my destiny. I knew from the moment I looked at you that we were meant to be. You are my second chance."
Todd looked at him questioningly. "I thought you said you didn't care if I loved you?"
"Yet," Wufei reminded him. "You may not love me now, but you will."
"You're a cocky son-of-a-bitch, do you know that?" Todd asked. His voice was tinged with annoyance, but there was a bit of awe there too.
Wufei smirked. "Yes."
Todd's eyes softened at the admission. He leaned over and kissed Wufei deeply, sending shudders through them both. "I guess if I'm your second chance, that makes you my new beginning."
"We've given each other wings," Wufei observed amusedly.
Todd looked at his dark-eyed lover, realization dawning. "So that's what they meant! Those bastards knew all along that we were attracted to each other."
"For once, I'm glad to have proven them right," Wufei replied evenly.
"Me too," Todd said softly, enjoying the way Wufei was running his fingers through his hair.
"I guess they'll just have to get used to you not being an ass anymore."
Todd glowered at him. "Very funny."
"Or at least, get used to you being MY ass," Wufei said as his hand caressed one of Todd's butt cheeks.
"Fei!
Wufei's deep laughter filled the bedroom... until Todd silenced him quite efficiently and effectively. Before the night was over, they had both learned how to help each other fly once again.
