This is a sort of sequel to "Fool On Fire," though you don't have to have read that story for this one to make sense. (This fic does ask you to begin with the understanding that Duo's always had a crush on Relena in this version of GW's events--that was the basic premise of "Fool," after all--so I won't be showing that attachment's origins here. If that omission strains your suspension of disbelief past the breaking point, well, I apologize for the whiplash.)
