Two bodies writhed in ecstasy, coming down from the waves of passion, the blonde woman looked up into blue eyes.
"I love you," she said, knowing that he would never answer back with those words. She smiled and nuzzled up to the young man anyway. 'Maybe someday, he'll be able to say the words,' she thought.
'I wonder how long it will be before she takes those words back?' her sweaty lover wondered.

Another Monday. Relena Dorlian had too many meetings and speeches scheduled for the week as usual. She wondered why she had to be the only one to expound on peace accords. It had been two years since the Eve wars and yet she still had to visit various places both on earth and in space to explain how this peace stuff worked.
She found herself thinking of the passionate night spent with her lover. Secret lover. Because the world at all times felt the need to know everything about Relena, her lover chose to stay in the shadows, even among his friends.
She looked forward to the vacation he promised her. He had cancelled on her three times already, maybe this time they would get to spend time together.
[So I spy on her, I lie to her, I make promises I cannot keep

Meeting number eight ended blessedly early. Relena knew she had a full hour before the next meeting. Walking outside the Parliament building she saw Heero and Duo standing by an outdoor vendor.
"Come on, Heero! Hot dogs won't kill you! They're great. Try one," Duo enthused.
Relena walked up to the two, trying to suppress the laughter that threatened to erupt.
"That stuff is poison Duo and you know it. Keep that away from me," Heero said before noticing Relena's approach.
"Heero. Duo," Relena said, now laughing at the expressions of both young men. "Duo, that stuff is poison, but Heero, you only live once. Or in your case, twice, thrice, I lose count." She laughed.
She walked over to the vendor. "I'll have a hot dog, with extra sauerkraut please." Observing the shocked expressions of both young men, she laughed and headed back to the Parliament building to resume her meetings.
Blue eyes smiled at her while maintaining outwardly no emotions at all.

"Well, I'll be up all night putting those papers in order," Relena panted as she watched the files get knocked to the floor before being bent over her desk. Her lover gently entered her, however he rocked into her body with more forceful thrusts. She bit her lip to prevent crying out. 'That would be all I need, dozens of assistants running in here thinking I'm in danger,' she smiled to herself.
"You'll be up all night, but not for that," her lover replied.
"That's right, because you're going to help me clean this up," she laughed before a moan escaped her lips.

Another speech, another threat to her safety. Heero volunteered to be her bodyguard. After the speech, the two had a quiet dinner, and did something they hadn't done since the days of the war. They talked.

Blue eyes were staring in the distance. 'I knew it wouldn't last. It can't last.'

"Dammit Duo, when will you believe that I love you?" Relena said, after listening to her lover's tirade. "Heero is just a friend."
"I was just a friend to you once also," Duo said sadly.
"You're just looking for an excuse," she said calmly. "You can't give rid of me that easily, I've been accused of being a stubborn cuss sometimes. By you even. The only thing that will make me leave you is if you really don't love me."

"Do you love me?" she asked hesitantly. It was the first the only time during this "discussion" that she seemed uncertain.
"You know I do," Duo said, "I just don't know why you bother with me."
"I told you," she smiled. "I'm stubborn."
