I am torn, unclean
My soul is in shambles
My heart is burned and blackened
Do I disgust you?
Does the fact that I am what I am disturb you?
Do you pity me?
I am torn, a shattered soul
My heart bleeds in my hand
My past is stained and uncouth
Do you see that in me?
Is it reflected in my eyes?
Are they the broken mirror of my broken soul?
I am torn, soiled
Many people have wiped their feet on the doormat that is my soul
My heart has been used for target practice
Do I repulse you?
Is that why you are silent to me?
Why you reply not to my questions and offers of friendship?
I am torn, for I love you
My heart speeds up when you enter the room
My soul feels alight and new around you
But I must revolt you
For you never reply nor give me the time of day
But the light in your eyes draws me, like a moth to a flame
And thus, I am torn.
