Rain
Silver droplets cascade down the metal,
Sliding down...
Cast iron so cold and lifeless -
Fall to the Earth,
Young angel.
Glittering wings as the stars
I pray upon
Blackness dark as Death
Salvation...
Twisted dragon breathing fire
Propelling bullets across the terrain
As a knife slits the armor in two.
I need purification,
To forget the haunting memories
And wash these blood-stained hands
Before they corrupt my soul.
Past in the present
I can never live alone...
Goddess of Justice shows no mercy
And I, hover like a coward in its shadow
Who am I really?
Sometimes I forget
And let this masquerade dance on
As an unknown true origin leads me to misbelieve...
Someday this will all be over
As once-known purposes
Are shattered and scattered
Across the war-torn landscape
A time of turmoil in peaceful days;
Love becomes an illusion
I cannot see.
Self-destruction is the only way out
Unless another war rusheth over
And I am swept away in the thick of it
To continue the Endless Waltz...
