The battle's always so hard and long
Defending the right by doing what's wrong
An angel reaping the foe's last breath
A soldier's constant companion, Death
Laughing eyes go gem-bright cold
The Grim Reaper harvests his quota of souls
A white demon cloaked in pinions of light
Battling beside an angel of night
Demon and angel share a mad laugh
While Hell swallows up the targets of wrath
Judgement Day in black and white
Engulfing those who dare to fight
And now he sleeps, my angel dear
Lying beside me, no trace of fear
Fluttering lashes protest day's break
Violet eyes open - Shinigami wakes.
