Fuyuka gets asked out on a date & Heero decides to give him, well, a little advice

A Little Fatherly Advice by Mobiusklein

Heero was reading the online local newspaper, then frowned. Even though the war's been over a long time, bad things still happen, he thought. Though not as much as before. He logged off, then sighed.

"Dad?"

He turned to see his fifteen-year old daughter in her school uniform, her hair up in a ponytail. "Yes, Fuyuka."

"Kenny asked me to go to a movie with him tonight."

"Isn't he a senior?"

"Yeah."

Heero frowned. "Is it with a group?"

"No, just me and him."

"How well do you know him?"

"He's in most of my classes. He's nice," Fuyuka said, playing with the end of her ponytail. "Even Mulan thinks he's OK." Well, she said she hadn't heard anything bad about him, she thought.

"What movie?"

"Bambi."

Hmmm, thought Heero. "If it's OK with daddy, then I'll agree. But I want to see him before you go out. Curfew still applies."

"Cool!"

I'd rather that she not go out, but I can't keep her in the house all the time, he thought. Besides, most high school romances come and go in a matter of weeks. Still...

"Kenny, come in," said Duo Yuy-Maxwell. "I'm Fu's dad."

The tall, gangly young man with blond hair that went straight up walked in. "Uh, hi, where's Fuyuka?"

"She'll be coming downstairs in a few minutes. But in the meantime, Heero wants to talk to you in the kitchen. I'll check up on her," said Duo as he ran up the stairs.

Heero opened the door to the kitchen and waved him in.

"I'm Fuyuka's father," said Heero, stretching out his hand.

Kenny shook it, then looked around. "Uh, nice kitchen."

"Thank you." Heero took up a paring knife and began peeling an apple. "You two are going to see Bambi, huh?"

"Yeah."

"How do you know Fuyuka?"

"I'm in a lot of her classes. We're lab partners in chemistry."

Heero could see by the way his leg was fidgeting that he was nervous. Good, he thought.

"I'm just curious what a 18 year old sees in a 15 year old."

"Well, she's cute and smart and... I figure... "

Heero had peeled the apple in one continuous strip and was halfway done. "Figure what?"

"Just might be fun to see a movie... "

"Hn. Do you read the news?"

He blinked, and looked puzzled. "Sometimes."

"It turns out that some punk from a nearby school had kicked his girlfriend out of the car on the emergency strip near the freeway, then drove off leaving her on the side of the road. She stood out there for hours. Her cellphone was still in his car so she couldn't contact anyone. Anything could've happened to her. Luckily, a tow truck driver got a call from a Good Samaritan and came to pick her up. The police asked him why he did such a thing. He said it was because she didn't want to do 'it.'" Heero turned the full power of his glare on his victim.

"Oh, believe me, I'd never do something like that, Mr. Yuy-Maxwell." said Kenny.

"Of course," Heero said, "Because if you were to leave my daughter in such a vulnerable state, if anything at all were to happen to her... " He walked up to the youth, and pressed the point of the paring knife to his chin, just enough so he could feel the sharpness of the point but not to cut. "I would peel the skin off your face."

"Dad, where's Kenny!" yelled Fuyuka from the living room.

Heero finished peeling the apple, the strip was unbroken. "Now go and show my daughter a nice time," said Heero. "Nice to meet you, Kenny."

"Nice to meet you, too," he said as he backed away from Heero then walked quickly out the door.

After a few minutes, Heero walked out of the kitchen to see Duo looking at him. "What?"

"What did you say to him?" said Duo. "He looked like he was going to pee in his pants."

"I just told him to be nice to her," Heero said. Or else.
