This is in response to those of you who were wonderful enough to point out that White Day is actually March 14th. I must have gotten the holiday mixed up with another one, because I really did look up the dates... just must have had a blonde moment :P Thanks again to all of you for making this become one of my favorite series to write! Enjoy
"You may be right. I may be crazy, but it just may be a lunatic you're looking for," I sang loudly as I left the bedroom. "Turn out the light. Don't try to save me. You may be wrong for all I know, but you may be right."
My Amorous-Asians were sitting in the living room, one in a chair, reading about "The Cask of Amontillado", and the other on the couch, watching a documentary on "Ships of the High Seas". They both turned to give me curious looks as I roamed into the room. I pulled the book out of Wufei´s hand as I absently noted how cute he was in his glasses, receiving a scathing look and growl for my actions. I then turned off the vid-screen after snagging the vid remote from Heero, gaining a glare that made 'omae o korosu' seem like an endearment. I smirked, trying to show no fear, before beginning to sing again.
"Remember how I found you there, alone in your electric chair. I told you dirty jokes until you smiled. You were lonely for a man. I said take me as I am, 'cause you might enjoy some madness for a while."
"Is there any particular reason why you´re standing there, yowling some ridiculous song, and interrupting our relaxation time?" Wufei asked, obviously pissed at having Edgar Allen Poe stolen from him.
Heero was frowning, a calculating look in his eyes as they lingered on the remote still in my hand. "Don't you have anything better to do than annoy us when you get bored?"
I answered him with, "Now think of all the years you tried to find someone to satisfy you. I might be as crazy as you say. If I'm crazy then it's true that it's all because of you, and you wouldn't want me any other way."
They both sighed, knowing there had to be a reason for my little impromptu concert. I laid book and remote on the entertainment center and turned around to give my lovers a saucy look. It was for mere bravado's sake. "You may be right. I may be crazy, but it just may be a lunatic you're looking for. It's too late to fight. It's too late to change me. You may be wrong for all I know, but you may be right."
Heero rolled his eyes. "Okay, we may be right. Happy now?"
I grinned at them, a little nervously. "You may be wrong."
Wufei let out a groan of exasperation. "What is going on, Maxwell?"
I sat down on the couch beside Heero and motioned for Wufei to join us on there. He reluctantly hauled himself out of the chair and landed beside me in a huff. I took a hand from each of them, lacing my fingers with theirs, trying to find a way to break the news to them. There just was no easy way. The song was supposed to help ease them into what I'd found out, but I wasn't sure how my fierce Preventer agents were going to react. I shook my head, knowing I couldn't put if off.
"Guys, I found out something today that I need to tell you." Blue and black eyes looked back at me impatiently. I took a deep breath. "Okay." I paused again; girding up my loins a bit more, and then went right into it. "Remember how we missed Valentine's Day?"
"It was two weeks ago. I doubt we could forget it that quickly," Wufei snorted, his hands itching for his book.
"What does this have to do with anything?" Heero demanded as he looked back to the vid-screen longingly.
I was only delaying the inevitable. "You both tried to make it up to me by all of us celebrating White Day together, but there's something you should know." They looked at me expectantly, and I finally blurted out. "White Day isn't until March fourteenth, guys."
Twin disbelieving stares settled on me, but Wufei was first to react. "That's impossible! We looked it up online."
I squeezed his hand. "I don't know what happened, but while I was looking for the holidays coming up, it was there in black and... well, whatever background color that website has." I looked over at Heero, noticing how stricken his face was. "I know it's a shock, but hey, everyone makes mistakes. We just have to verify our information before we celebrate next time."
"So the chocolate wasn't given on a holiday," Heero said in as softly disappointed voice.
I pulled him to me, holding him in as comforting a way as I could. "Nope, just a regular old morning," I told him, feeling him snuggle against me to find solace, "but you guys really tried hard, and because of it, I will never forget our first Valentine's Day as a... well... as lovers."
"How could I have been wrong?" Wufei asked, stunned by the concept since he was fluent in all things scholastic.
I'd known that he would take it the hardest out of the two of them, but seeing that I was right wasn't easy. I leaned against him in support, nuzzling his chin with my bangs. He turned towards me, shame in his eyes. I tried to smile reassuringly. "It happens to the best of us, and there is a bright side to this, you know."
"What?" Both of them practically begged.
"We can celebrate it again, and it's three days before St. Patrick's Day, so we can have another long week if you can take off from work again."
There was silence for a while, and then Heero cleared his throat, recovering from his shock and going into damage control mode for the sake of our other lover. "Well, we were planning on going to Ireland, and I'm sure we could find chocolate there."
"And beer," I added happily. "Lots of beer."
Wufei seemed to come out of his stupor at that. Giving us both a sheepish look, he nodded. "Beer and chocolate sound good. We might even be able to kiss the Blarney Stone while we're at it."
"Not to mention learn how to do an Irish jig," Heero suggested, seeming to warm up to the subject. Who would have known that Heero Yuy actually loved to dance?
We sat there for a while, just holding each other as my two lovers mended inside from the ordeal. Wufei suddenly tensed beside me, and when I looked up at him, he was scowling. I was instantly concerned. "What's wrong?"
"Why were you singing that song?"
I swallowed. Leave it to Fei to pick up on certain things. "Well... you see... "
Heero lifted his head, the motion drawing my gaze as his eyes fixed on mine. "What exactly was it supposed to mean, Maxwell?" For someone who'd had problems with expressing his emotions, Ro is pretty perceptive now.
I blinked innocently or at least I hoped it looked that way. "Um... well... I hoped that if I could admit to being wrong, you could too... "
I didn't have any warning before both of my Amorous-Asians pounced on me. I yelped as I was dragged forcibly off of the couch and onto the floor. I landed on my backside between Wufei's legs with his arms around me tightly, and Heero straddling my thighs to keep me from escaping. Not exactly the reaction I had expected, but better than I had feared in a worst-case scenario. My lovers had mellowed quite a bit since the war, or I would've been in trouble.
"I think we need to show him who is usually on 'top' of things, Yuy, don't you?" Wufei inquired in a sexy yet dangerous voice that made my little Shini stand up and pay attention.
Heero grinned the way he usually did when I ended up being so sore I could barely walk the next morning. "I think that's a good idea, Chang."
"Oh, I may be wrong, for all I know," Wufei replied, nibbling at my neck. Those bastards! They were using my own song against me!
"But you may be right," Heero countered as he began pulling down my jeans, licking my stomach from where my shirt had ridden up.
"G-Guys... can we talk about this... ?"
The next two hours proved to be a thorough lesson in the repercussions of ever telling the Asian-Twosome that they were wrong in this kind of context. Yeah, you can tactfully tell them their mission plan needs work, point out gently their inability to do the laundry correctly, or even casually inform them that their oral talents could use a little bit of practice; but don't ever, under any circumstance, tell them that they celebrated a holiday at the wrong time, or this is what will happen. When all was said and done, we lay spent on the floor in front of the couch famous novel, sea documentary, and all holidays forgotten, which was fine by me. My mind was still trying to catch up with my body. I'd been screwed silly, had the taste of my two lovers still in my mouth, and was going to be as sore as all get-out tomorrow, but I was as content as a kid with two flavors of lollipops. Um... yeah. At least my plan to divert their attention away from their mistake had worked.
What? You think I didn't plan that? Hey, I may be wrong most of the time, but every once in a while, I'm right.
The End
