Title: My Beloved Enemy

Notes: Just a little something to explore the complexity of Treize & Wufei's interaction, and a guess at what was going on in Wufei's head that got him into the whole Mariemaia mess. I suppose at this point, I should issue a melodrama warning on all my poetry... :sweatdrop:
How could you leave me,
My beloved enemy?
My world I built around you -
For you, I let hatred consume my soul.
Why did you have to die?
Manipulator that you were,
You could have found another way!
Instead, you became a martyr,
Fallen symbol of war itself:
You threw yourself onto the blade you had forged,
The blade which was myself,
And, spitted upon it, you died -
Leaving me empty, with only ashes left of my soul.
My every action was to thwart you,
My every battle was to defeat you,
And now you are gone, and I am left alone.
My family is dead;
My home destroyed;
My future cast upon your funeral pyre:
What, now, am I to do?
I do not know!
The passion that I felt for you,
It's hard to tell if it was love or hate.
I only know, without you, my life is barren,
Cold and hard as your tombstone.
Oh, for the days when life was simple!
Ah, for the one who fired my soul!
If only those days could come back again,
Back to the time when my rage made me whole.
