Information-gathering efforts were a big failure. He told me very little about himself; mostly he just changed the subject.

How can I utilize this information to please him? Something blue. I don't know enough about music, let alone neo-rock, to pick out a gift he'd like, of which he didn't already own a copy. Food. I've tried cooking for him, with no success; also, the thought of mixing avocado, artichokes and chocolate is nauseating. I think I'll pass on the food idea.
So the gift needs to be something blue, and to involve him messing with my mind.
