Heero, Trowa, Quatre, and Wufei returned to the safehouse. From the outside it looked alright, but knowing Duo...
Heero stopped when he saw what was sitting in the small parking lot on the side of the house. The pink monstrausity. That meant Relena was here. He felt dread stiring in his stomach. He wondered how Duo was fairing if *she* was here.

Duo broke the kiss, breathless. His face was flushed. Relena drank in the sight. She wanted him, she really wanted him. And if she read the signs correctly, he wanted her. Maybe it was just lust, but if he was even minutely interested she was sure as hell gonna make him hers.
She leaned in again --
"What the fuck are you doing?!?!" Heero stood in the doorway, his face red and his eyes angry, "What are you doing here?!?! Leave him alone!"
Relena stuttered, "What-- what do you mean? Why would you care??" She was not happy that her plans had been interrupted. She looked back at Duo and saw the fear in his eyes. Fear of Heero? No. Fear of what Heero would do? She didn't know. Why though? Why fear at all?
Comprehension hit her. Had she read the signs wrong? Duo had participated, yes, but he hadn't been exactly enthusiastic about it. Why? She was a desirable girl... Yes, she had been the one to initiate the kiss, and he *had* been pressed up against the back of the couch.
"Relena-san, what is--was going on here?" Quatre looked at her curiously.
She looked from Heero to Quatre then back to Duo, what she saw then made her stop.
Duo was pale and he looked unhappy. Why was he unhappy? He looked as if he was about to cry or faint. She looked at Heero again, and then she understood. Heero's face was drawn and he was staring straight at Duo with an expression of betrayal.
A muffled sound came from Duo's direction. He had his head in his hands, and the muffled sounds were sobs.
"I think I know..." Trowa said quietly. He could tell by the pale sickly look on Duo's face that he was upset about it... "Relena, you came onto Duo, didn't you?"
"I-- I... he... I thought... but..." she couldn't find the words. She *had* read the signs wrong! He couldn't speak cause he was in shock from her words. She'd taken it as he was interested... How could she have been so wrong?
Heero turned and headed for his room, "Heero-- Heero-- !!!" Duo stumbled from the couch. After a few steps he crumpled to the floor and began to sob. Quatre knelt beside him, rubbing his back soothingly.

Heero was pissed. No, pissed didn't even begin to describe how he felt. Betrayed, broken hearted, yes, those were closer. There was a rap at the door. He ignored it.
"He-- Heero?" came Duo's tentative query, "May I please come in...??"
"Your room too, why shouldn't you??"
"Heero -- Heero I... she just... I'm... I'm sorry..." Heero looked at the boy and his heart (what was left of it) went out to him. How could he think of ever making this fey beauty cry? No, it was Relena that made him suffer.
"Hn."
"Heero... I didn't mean... she just..." tears began to flow once more. Heero couldn't take it anymore. He want the boy to know how he felt. I knew how he felt, and Duo obviously felt the same, but how could he express it to the boy... Then he realized he had when he stomped out of the room... He swiftly closed the distance between them.
Duo flinched, expecting to be hit for his betrayal, not wholly his own fault. He least expected to be pulled into the circle of Heero's strong embrace.
"Shh... I know you didn't mean it, *she* is just to damn persistant. Why did she... why you? I thought she was fixated on me?"
Duo shook his head slightly, "She told me that... well you know... or can guess..." He said, his voice a whisper, "I... I'm sorry..." then almost unheard, "You must hate me now... but I still..."
Heero looked at the sullen, tear streaked face of his beloved. (1) He knew Duo loved him (atleast by his actions), but Heero just couldn't confess more than that he cared for him. Duo, so sweet, so honest, so beautiful... Gods, he wanted to make him his, show the boy just how much he loved him, especially now, to assure the boy he was loved...

Quatre just looked at the girl sitting distraught on the couch.
"... so you mean you forced yourself on Duo..." Quatre said after going over her story. She nodded, the way he said it it was very distasteful indeed.
Quatre looked at his lover. Trowa smiled slightly, "I think, that you should leave Relena-san..." Relena nodded and headed out the door, after she left Trowa whispered to Quatre, "I feel sorry for Duo, Heero'll probably let him have it... Did you see the look on his face? He looked sick..."
Quatre nodded, "Duo loves Heero "and I think Heero loves him back, he is just having a hard time showing it..." this struck Trowa, he thought they were just good friends (2), but love, no. He could see Duo, but Heero returning the feeling. Then again, if he and Quatre could do it (3) then he didn't see why Heero and Duo could work things out.

Duo looked up at Heero, his eyes red. Heero smiled down on him. He must have looked confused, for Heero chuckled.
//Yes,// Heero thought, //I'll show him just how much he is loved, but I'll let him choose the pace...//
Heero looked at the elfin boy, "Duo, do you..." words failed him. When Duo looked at him, confusion marring his bow, Heero could do nothing but kiss him on the nose. Duo sqwaked and tried to pull away, Heero held him steadfast.
Still at a loss for words Heero took his mouth, after only a fraction of a moment's hesitation he melted in to the kiss and the embrace.
"I'll go only as fast as you want me too..." Heero said. Duo looked surprised.
"H-- Hontou ni? You-- you mean that-- that you do..."
"Want you? Love you? Yes to both..." Heero again took his mouth, this time Duo was enthusiastic...
This was just the beginning to the best night of Duo's young life.
