"Daddy, what am I going to do about the monster in the closet?" she said.
"Well, take a look at Mr. Teddy." Duo held the bear out to her.
"Ohhhh, he's dressed in a Preventer's uniform!"
"Also I've given you a flashlight that should vaporize any monsters that come near. Now try to get some sleep, all right?"
Fuyuka nodded.
At around midnight, Mr. Teddy was lying down at attention. It was very lonely and tiring to stay awake in the dark, but it was his job. He heard the closet door begin to slide open. He sat up and walked to the edge of the bed with the flashlight. He turned on the flashlight.
There was a monster that was about a foot tall standing in front of the open closet door. He was a nasty shade of pink with horns, a long prehensile tail and fangs. "Watch where you're shining the light!"
"I'm sorry. I am Mr. Teddy. What is your name?"
"I am Mr. Monster from the Land of the Missing Socks. It is my job to scare one Fuyuka Yuy-Maxwell."
"It is my job to keep you from scaring one Fuyuka Yuy- Maxwell." Mr. Teddy took out his weapon of choice.
"I see I have no choice," said the monster in his best Darth Vader imitation, pulling out three of his own weapons. His tail was holding one of them.
About thirty seconds later, Duo heard something from inside the room and got curious. He opened the door only to see Mr. Teddy and Mr. Monster frozen in fighting stances with pencils. "Oh, so that's where all the pencils are. And she left the flashlight on. Silly girl." He snatched away all the pencils, turned the flashlight off and tucked Mr. Teddy back into bed.
"Yeesh, that other toy's ugly. I bet it's one of her friends'. I think I'll give it a good run through the washing machine and dryer along with all the dirty clothes."

Duo turned around to see that the monster was gone. "Hmm?"
Heero poked his head in the room. "Duo, hurry back to bed. She needs to sleep."
"Yes, yes." With that, he shut the door again.
"Daddy, I think Mr. Teddy looks tired."
"You think so?"
