Warnings: AU, OOC, Shounen ai, possibly angst, death death death (I say it three times for a reason). From an unknown person's perspective. 1x2/2x1 (I'm not sure yet - not that it really matters). Mild language in this part. C&C would be appreciated - it's the deciding factor on whether I finish this or not.

This part was shorter than I had planned on it being, but there's still quite a few things I need to work out before I can continue (assuming anyone *wants* me to continue from here!). Domo arigato for the compliments on part one. -_- Sorry for any blatant mistakes in here, but if I go over it too many times it ends up being *blah*...

The Watcher by Siberian Tiger

Part Two

The microphone bug had been easy to get in their apartment, but cameras were a different beast altogether. Because they were going to have to be there long term I to take a few days to fix the cameras up with better battery packs, and then I had to get them into their apartment without anyone (especially them) noticing.

Updating the cameras took much less time than I had anticipated, but would fortunately coincide with one of Heero and Duo's weekly 'walkabouts'. They'd be gone for most of the day, walking around the local mall and park. Public places. They'd be safe, and I'd have more than enough time to install the half dozen cameras. It was so perfect I couldn't have planned it any better myself.

9 o'clock in the morning. Too damn early. But they were young and it was no bother for them. I sighed heavily as I got out of my makeshift bed. From the noise I was hearing I figured they were going at it again - which meant I had about two hours before they were finished and gone. I had to hand it to them, though, their lovemaking was fast and furious, but so much more than just sex. I could feel myself smiling again, I had to keep from making it a habit. Cold-blooded killers don't smile.

Just like I had predicted, one hour and fifty-six minutes after they woke up they were already ready to go. While they were getting read they had talked about seeing a movie and going out to eat in addition to their usual plans. I decided to check up on the restaurant and theatre to make sure I wasn't going to have to follow them around. Before I could even turn around to my trusty laptop I heard my name. Duo had asked if they should invite me along for a while.

/'Great. That's the last thing you *need*. If Heero says 'yes' you damn well better say 'no' - no matter how tempting the offer is. They can take care of themselves for the day, and you need to install those cameras!'/

"Not today. He just moved in the other day, we should give him some more time to get settled in before we try to drag him along with us." Whew. I would've thanked Heero if I could've.

"Yeah, I guess you're right. Next time then?"

"Sure," I could tell they were both smiling. It showed in their voices. "Why not!"

Disaster number two avoided.

I shouldn't have gotten attached to them. I should've just done my damn job and killed them both while I had the chance.

Their door opened, then closed. I could hear Duo giggling about something in the hallway. I decided I should put cameras there too, for my protection as well as theirs. Something was bothering me though, and I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was. Probably nothing. It better be nothing.

A voice from somewhere in the recesses of my mind nagged me at why they would want to invite a perfect stranger along with them. I shrugged it off as them just being friendly - since that was the only thing I could think of.

Getting into their apartment was a cinch - actually it was too easy. I never thought they'd be so careless as to make the passcode their anniversary.

/'Are they too lax or are you just too good?'/

I couldn't help but smirk at the last part of that thought as the door slid open and I was greeted with the sweet smell of incense and something else. Something musky.

/'Sweat and sex you idiot. It hasn't been that long since you've experienced the smell firsthand...'/

Oh but it has...

/'That's not what you're here for... Get the shit installed and get out...'/

I took out my drill-gun with the custom made attachment, put the first camera inside the bit, placed it against the ceiling and pulled the trigger.

The noise was loud, but the camera appeared to be okay. Well, the lens didn't break, and since I couldn't exactly see the camera itself (thanks to modern technology and the use of a special paint of my own design) I could only assume it was alright. One more in the kitchen, another in the bedroom, and I was done.

On my way out I noticed a framed photo, one that looked oddly familiar. Upon closer inspection I realized what was staring me back in the face - the same photo I had received two months ago. A photo I had memorized.

/'What the hell is going on here...?'/

Not wanting to stick around any longer I opened the front door, looked around the hallway and walked out. Empty. This is too easy. Two more cameras five feet from our doorways in either direction.

Finished. Now to test them out... I opened the door to my apartment and threw the drill in a box and sat down in front of the monitors. One by one I flipped them on to be greeted with perfect pictures of their main room, the kitchen, the bedroom, the hallway. The wide angle lenses captured every nook and cranny. It was perfect.

Now all I had to do was wait.
