Wufei was frankly more than a little surprised when he got a call from Quatre. They had all been worried about him upon learning of the twist of fate that brought the Winner financial empire to ruin. Quatre seemed to vanish from the face of the earth and all LaGrange points. Maxwell pestered him and Sally for months to look for Quatre, but Preventer resources could only go so far in looking for a person that no one was reporting missing. None of his 29 sisters were looking for him. It saddened Wufei.
One morning while Wufei was getting ready for work his phone rang.
"Yes?" The Chinese said, frowning when he noted the blank screen. Whomever was calling wasn't using a video phone.
"Wu-fei?" a small voice asked. It was barely audible with the loud street noises in the background.
"Yes, this is Chang Wufei. Who is this?" he asked impatiently. It was too early in the morning for him to play guessing games on a blank screen call.
"It's Quatre," the voice said.
"Quatre!" Wufei yelled excitedly into the phone.
"Hai," Quatre said cautiously. "I don't mean to bother you, but I promised Trowa I would contact one of you."
"You're not bothering me at all. So how are you? Where are you? Are you with Trowa?" He asked realizing he wasn't giving the other much time to answer between the questions.
"I'm ... I'm okay. I'm living on L2. No, I'm not with Trowa," he said slowly.
Wufei was surprised to hear that. 'If Quatre were to turn to anyone surely Trowa would be that person,' he thought. "Quatre, would you like for me to come see you?" He wasn't sure why he asked that question, but he felt if he didn't, this call wouldn't go any further than it had.
There was silence on the other end. Wufei got nervous suddenly. 'Have I stepped over some invisible boundary?' He was worrying about it so much that he almost didn't hear Quatre's answer.
"Yes. I'm afraid I can't afford the ticket to come see you," Quatre said humbled.
Wufei cringed at the quiet despair in that voice. "Tell me where you are exactly and I'll be there today."
After getting details on location, he called Sally to tell her he was going to take some personal time off for a while. She knew not to ask details. If there was something going on enough to make 'Mr. Workaholic' take time off it, it had to be something of utmost importance.
While on the shuttle headed to L2, Wufei made some calls and tracked down Trowa.
"Wufei? What's wrong?" the silent one asked.
"I've heard from Quatre," Wufei said cautiously. "I'm on my way to see him now."
He could hear Trowa heave a sigh of relief. "Good! I wanted him to call someone when he refused my help."
"That is where I'm confused, Trowa," Wufei remarked. "Why did he refuse your help?"
"Because he's proud. Seeking help is akin to weakness to him. However, he is honor bound by promises. I made him promise to contact one of you," Trowa said in a calm voice.
"Why me?" Wufei had to ask.
"I don't know that. You'd have to ask him," Trowa replied. "Just be careful though. He is a little ... skittish."
"I will. Thank you, Trowa," Wufei said noticing his shuttle was about to land. "I'll talk to you later."
As Wufei disembarked from the shuttle, his mind pondered how to approach Quatre. So deep in thought he was that he bumped into a small, disheveled man. "Gomen nasai," he said quickly not looking at the man.
"It's okay, Wufei."
Wufei stopped in his tracks and turned around to look at the man he bumped. He tried to hide the shock of seeing Quatre so frail looking. He had always been delicate looking but this was scary. He wondered when was the last time the former heir to the Winner fortune had eaten.
"Q-Quatre?" Wufei asked, trying to sound a lighter than he felt.
Quatre saw the expression Wufei was trying to hide and cursed himself for saying anything. 'I shouldn't have called him. He's embarrassed and ashamed of me.' "Hai," he said quickly looking away from Wufei.
Wufei bowed to Quatre. "I'm sorry, I didn't see you. I was thinking about something."
Quatre flushed in embarrassment. "It's okay, really. I didn't want you to come see me where I was living. I thought I'd surprise you and meet you here."
Wufei felt an overwhelming desire to embrace the slim man in front of him. "Well, you certainly did surprise me. How long have you been here on this colony?" Wufei couldn't believe he was making 'small talk' but he knew if he broached things that would be uncomfortable to Quatre this conversation would be over in a flash.
"A while," Quatre hedged. "Look, I shouldn't have called ... damn Trowa," he muttered as he made the move to leave.
Wufei's hand caught Quatre's thin arm. "I'm glad you did. Look, why don't you come stay with me for a little while until you're back on your feet."
"Wufei, I don't want charity," the blond with filthy hair and dull gaze retorted.
"It won't be charity. You'll earn your keep," Wufei said, ignoring the slightly belligerent tone.
"How?" he asked skeptical.
"I don't know. I'm working all the time, maybe you could have a hot meal ready when I got home," Wufei babbled.
"So you're looking for what ... a maid? A housewife?" Quatre asked, not trusting Wufei. "I'm not looking for pity."
"And you'll get none from me!" Wufei yelled. "Now are you getting on the next shuttle with me voluntarily or will I have to physically throw you on the shuttle myself?!"
Both men were having a glaring contest that passers by would look at briefly before scurrying away in fear of something they had only seen in movies--a gunfight of a western flare. The staring contest lasted a minute, before Quatre sighed and backed down. "Okay, I'll go."
"Good. Do we need to pick up your things?" Wufei asked.
"What things? What you see is what I have. Period," Quatre said defiantly, daring Wufei to feel sorry for him.
"Fine," Wufei said equally as defiant. "Since we have two hours until the next shuttle why don't we get something to eat!"
They ate at a restaurant in the space port before returning to earth. They talked very little during the flight. Wufei because he was never very talkative unless he was on a rant. Quatre because there was little to say that wouldn't shame and embarrass himself.
Once they arrived at Wufei's apartment, Wufei launched into the grand tour. "It's not much. I live rather simply, but this couch pulls out into a very comfortable bed. It was my bed for months before I decided I should get more furniture. The bathroom is the first door on your left and my bedroom is the second door on the left. This is the coat closet where you can store your things ... when you get things," Wufei continued bypassing his faux pas. "And here is the kitchen."
"Where you expect your hot meals from me?" Quatre smiled.
Wufei turned to look at the blond and returned the smile. "That's right. Look why don't you go get a shower, I'll put out some things for you to wear. They are mostly clothes that kisama Maxwell used to try to get me to wear in his failed mission, 'Operation Modernizing Wufei'."
Quatre laughed. "Should I be afraid of these clothes? Are they leather?"
"I think if Maxwell and I were a couple, it probably would have been," Wufei laughed while shuddering. "No, they are sound clothes, just not my style. We'll pick up some clothes to your liking later." He saw 'the look.' "Don't worry, I will keep a running tab of expenses. Once you're on your feet, you will pay me back. This isn't charity."
That seemed to calm the glare in Quatre's eyes. He headed to the bathroom. Stripping down, Quatre stood under the steady stream of the shower. The first shower he had in months. 'Duo didn't lie about the lack of water on L2. I'm from an arid colony but at least there were an occasional oasis to splash in. Water was a scarce and precious commodity on L2.' He almost felt guilty for wasting Wufei's water before he remembered he was on earth.
Squeaky clean and wrapped in a towel, he sought out those weird clothes that Wufei abhorred. He walked into Wufei's bedroom.
"Wufei?"
Wufei stepped out of the walk-in closet. "Here they are. I've never been fond of blue jeans," he said as he tossed the offending article at Quatre who caught them with no problems. Next a t-shirt sailed his way.
Finally, Wufei walked over to a drawer and pulled out a package still in the cellophane wrapping. With a blush, he handed it to Quatre. "They have never been worn. I think you can see why."
Quatre looked down and tried not to laugh. They were a pair of leopard print bikini underwear. "And Duo gave you ... these?"
"I was never sure if he did it as a joke, or as an invitation," Wufei said shyly. "In any case, we'll get you something else, whenever you're ready. I'll let you get dressed." Then he walked out of the room, closing the door.
'It was an invitation Wufei,' Quatre smiled. He knew Duo had a crush on Wufei, but the shy Chinese man stayed woefully oblivious.
Wufei was checking his e-mail on his laptop in the living room when Quatre returned. The jeans were a little big, but not overly so. It just seemed a little strange to Wufei not seeing the boy in his khakis, vest and ever present pink shirt. But he looked fine. More than fine.
"Do you want me to tell the others where you are?" Wufei asked as he went back to his e-mail. "Everyone has been worried sick about you."
"No. They will only want to smother me with questions I'm not ready for," Quatre said.
"I should tell you then I talked with Trowa before I saw you in the space port," Wufei said.
"You did?" Quatre asked warily. "What did he say?"
"That he was glad you had contacted one of us. That's all."
Quatre sighed. "Good. That's fine. I appreciate you telling me. Others may have withheld that little information."
"I'm not like others," Wufei said gruffly.
"I know," Quatre said quietly. "Wufei, would it be okay if I took a nap? I'm really tired."
Wufei looked at the boy. "Of course! And here I am in your bedroom. Look, why don't you go lie down in my room. I'll keep it quiet in here."
Quatre smiled, "You don't have to worry about being quiet. I've learned to sleep through all sorts of noises. I think a mobile suit could bounce five feet away from me and I would never hear it. But I will take you up on the offer. Good night, Wufei."
"Pleasant dreams, Quatre."
Wufei went back to his mail, but his mind was on Quatre. 'What had he been doing on his own for so long? He didn't say as much but he's been living on the streets which is a tough life for anyone who has been that way their whole lives. But what of Quatre? This was a man born of privilege. He doesn't want pity and damn it, I won't show him pity. I know he can snap out of this, I just don't know what I can do to help.'
Nightfall came and Quatre was still asleep in Wufei's bed. He checked on the young man to see him asleep on the top of the covers. Wufei went to a closet to pull out a comforter and spread it over the boy, who stirred a little before snuggling closer to the warmth of the covering.
Wufei didn't have the heart to wake the boy from his slumber. He looked peaceful. 'It may have been the most anguish-free rest he's had for a while, I won't destroy that for him,' he thought as he grabbed some extra covers and settled down for the night on the couch. He didn't have the energy to pull it out into its bed position.
At three in the morning, Wufei awoke to the sound of a car alarm. 'Shimatta! I hate those things, people with alarms must be destroyed!' He decided to check on Quatre to make sure the boy wasn't disturbed by the noise.
When he looked in the bedroom, Quatre continued to sleep like there was no blaring noise at all. He was quietly snoring. 'Well, he said he could sleep through anything. I wish I was as fortunate.'
Finally after much yelling from neighbors in surrounding buildings, the owner of the annoying alarm turned it off and Wufei went back to sleep.
The next morning, Wufei awoke to find Quatre in the kitchen making breakfast. He had tea steeping in a small teapot and the aroma of french toast filled the kitchen. "Good morning, Wufei," he said cheerfully. "If I'm to be your scullery, I figured now was as good a time as any."
"Scullery?" Wufei asked confused by the word.
"Maid," Quatre explained. "You really shouldn't have left me in your room. You could have awaken me."
"Why?" Wufei stared at him. "You needed the rest and if that alarm at three in the morning didn't wake you, nothing would anyway."
"Alarm?" Quatre looked puzzled. "What alarm?"
"Exactly," Wufei laughed.
They ate in companionable silence for the most part. "This was very good, Quatre," Wufei said, trying to suppress a small belch. "I've taken a few days off from work."
"Why?" Quatre asked suspiciously. "To make sure I don't do something stupid?"
Wufei jumped at the tone. "No, that was not the reason. True, you were part of the reason I took the time. The other reason being I was tired of Sally badgering me to take time off. They seem to think I work too hard. Silly onna."
"Knowing you, you probably do work too hard Wufei," Quatre said in a more relaxed tone. "You were always an intense person. Sometimes even scarier than Heero in your intensity."
"Don't be silly," Wufei said, dismissive. "No one is scarier than Heero."
Quatre laughed. The day was spent finding suitable clothes for Quatre. Wufei was surprised at the lack of khakis, vests, or pink shirts. "That was the old me, Wufei. No point clinging to the past, ne?"
While on personal leave, Quatre would make breakfast and Wufei would make dinner. One evening, Wufei announced to Quatre he was going back to work the next day.
Quatre smiled, "I'm sure it was killing you being off for so long."
Normally Wufei would agree, but not this time around. "Actually, I hadn't really thought about work much at all. Having you around here has been ... pleasant."
Quatre kept the smile but it shifted into a small, almost shy smile. "Being around here has been more ... pleasant than I thought it would be."
"Did you expect me to rant about justice to you the whole time you were here?" Wufei smiled.
"Something like that," he grinned. "Okay, so my duties of unofficial housekeeper go into full swing starting tomorrow. When do you wake up, etc."
"I get up at five and leave at six. I usually pick up something to eat for breakfast, so you don't need to worry about making breakfast."
"What about lunch?" Quatre asked.
"What about it? I seldom eat it, unless forced to do so by some crazed onna," Wufei replied.
"What time do you get home? When do you expect dinner?"
"I generally don't leave work until late. Anywhere from seven to ten at night. But since you are my cook, I'll try to be home at seven," Wufei smiled. "If I'm later than that I'll call you. Is that acceptable?"
"When do you have a social life?" Quatre asked.
Wufei blinked. "Social life?"
"You know, go out on dates, or hang out with friends. You're working over twelve hours a day. When do you rest?" Quatre asked.
"I don't date. Who has the time? As for friends, with the exception of Sally and you guys, I don't really have friends. So socializing isn't high priority. And as for rest, what do you think the weekends are for?" Wufei said seriously.
Quatre sighed. "Now I know why Duo was trying to 'modernize' you."
"I don't understand," Wufei said confused.
"I'm not surprised," Quatre said. "Okay, you don't want me to make you breakfast. How about you come home for lunch? You'll still get dinner out of me, but I want to make sure you're really eating more than once a day."
"Look who's ..." Wufei shook his head. "Never mind. Okay, I'll come home for lunch."
The next day, Quatre was asleep in the living room, he never heard Wufei leave that morning. Wufei did return for lunch which Quatre served with great pride. He knew he wasn't the greatest cook in the world, but he was thrilled he hadn't burned anything yet. A ritual was started of Wufei coming home daily for lunch. He was even leaving work earlier these days. He now arrived at six. He would talk about his cases and Quatre would make suggestions.
"Quatre, why don't you come work for the Preventers? I'm sure Une and Sally would be thrilled to have you," Wufei said one night after dinner. Quatre had been staying with Wufei for over a month.
"I don't know. Wouldn't it be just too weird for me to just show up there?" Quatre asked. He knew he had to get a job, he had been looking the whole time he had been staying with Wufei. Most employers would see his name, recognize it and react. Sometimes they would ask point blank how he managed to bankrupt his company. Others treated him like he wasn't serious about working at all. So he stopped looking for management positions. Not that he was picky at this point, any job to start paying back Wufei was fine, but so many just wouldn't hire him.
"Not weird at all," Wufei grabbed Quatre's hand and pulled him towards the full length mirror on the back of the bathroom door. "You don't look anything like you did when I saw you six weeks ago. What do you see?" he asked pointing to the Quatre in the mirror.
"I see ... a loser," Quatre said bitterly. "A failure. What do you see, Wufei?"
Wufei was shocked at his answer. "Well, Quatre Raberba Winner, I see a highly intelligent man, who was down on his luck but is now ready to change that luck. I see," Wufei moved behind Quatre and placed his hands on the blond boy's shoulders, "A man willing to accept responsibility and willing to make a change. I see a strong, proud man who won't let pride get in the way of common sense. Are you telling me you see none of those things?"
Quatre stood stunned. 'He sees that in me?' He turned around and embraced Wufei. "I don't see those things, but maybe someday."
Wufei accepted the hug and wrapped his arms around the blond man tightly. 'Yes, someday I hope you do see those things,' he thought. He loosened his grip and kissed Quatre on the forehead. "You will see it too someday. I know it."
Quatre accepted the kiss before pulling Wufei down for a kiss on the lips. It was a soft kiss, but one that held promise.
Wufei pulled out of the kiss, flushed. "So you will talk to Une tomorrow?"
Quatre smiled enjoying the lovely shade of red Wufei had turned. "Sure."
The next day Noin, Sally, and Une were in the break room of the Preventers sharing coffee and gossip.
"So who do you think the mystery person in Wufei's life is?" Sally asked.
Une feigning disinterest asked, "What makes you think there IS a person in Wufei's life?"
Noin laughed. "Come on, don't play dumb, Lady. I've been convinced for years that Wufei never leaves this building except when on special assignment. He's here in the mornings when I arrive and he's here in the evenings when I leave. If it weren't for an occasional change of clothes I'd swear he never ever leaves period. But lately he's off to lunch at high noon like clockwork and there are days when he's gone even before I leave. There has to be someone."
Sally asked, "You think Duo has finally succeeded?"
Noin shook her head. "Nope. He gave up a while ago."
"Interesting. Do we have anyone else that might be the mystery ..."
"Umm, excuse me," Quatre said standing at the door of the break room, looking embarrassed. "I'm sorry to interrupt, but I was told I could find Lady Une here."
Three stunned women sat with their jaws dropped before Une spoke for them. "Quatre! My God! Quatre! How have you been? We were worried about you."
Quatre blushed. "I'm doing better. Thank you for your concern. Une-sama may I speak with you in private?"
Une stood up, coffee forgotten. "Sure, let's go into my office. Sally, Noin, I'll see you later." The two walked away to Une's office without speaking. Once the door to the office was closed, Une turned to Quatre. "Where have you been? We did look for you for as long as we could."
"I didn't want to be found," Quatre said. "Look, I know this is very presumptuous of me and I apologize, but is it possible for me to work for you? You don't have to answer that right away. I want you to think about it. I think I have the skills necessary to make a good agent and I come cheap," he smiled.
"Quatre, I don't need to think about it. Of course, you can come work for the Preventers. We always need talented people. When can you start?" Une said, smiling.
"Whenever you want me to," he said.
"Okay, let me get the paperwork in place and I'll call you. What's your number?" she asked as she went fishing for a pen under the pile of papers on her desk.
"I'm staying at Wufei's. I'm sure you have his number already." He walked over and grabbed her hand that was still patting the desk for the hidden ink pen. He pulled her up from her chair and gave her a brief hug. "Arigatou Une-sama. I promise not to disappoint." He left the room to see if he could find Wufei.
Une smiled. She was happy that Quatre looked fine. Then the smile turned into a leer. 'Staying at Wufei's, eh?'
Wufei was about to get in his car to head home for lunch when he saw Quatre tearing out the Preventers building and running towards him.
"Wufei!"
Wufei left the key in the door of the car and straightened up. "Quatre?"
Quatre launched himself at Wufei almost knocking the Chinese man to the ground. "Une said yes!"
Wufei smiled and hugged the man back. "Of course, she said yes. She'd be a fool to say no."
Quatre didn't want to let Wufei go, but reluctantly he did. "You were headed home right? I'm afraid I haven't gotten around to making lunch."
Wufei laughed. "So I gathered. That's okay, we'll go out to lunch and celebrate. Get in," Wufei said as he turned the lock on his car door releasing the electronic locks. They had an animated lunch filled with laughter. Wufei dropped Quatre off at the apartment on his way back to work.
When Wufei returned home, he was surprised to see that Quatre had made his favorite meal. "It's to celebrate. Une called and I can start in two weeks."
"That's great, Quatre. I knew you'd get the job," Wufei beamed.
"Wufei?" Quatre asked tentatively.
"Hmm?"
"Why haven't you ... asked me," Quatre stopped.
"Ask you what?" Wufei looked up at him wondering at the mixed emotions he was seeing in the other man's face.
"About ... everything. The company. Living on the streets. You know ... stuff like ... how does it feel lose everything? You've never asked," he said in a strangled voice.
"I didn't ask because I felt you would tell me, if you wanted me to know," Wufei said. "Also, I know already."
Quatre looked confused. "You know what already?"
"What it is like to lose everything. I know what that feels like. Granted our losses were different. Your loss was of finances and society. Where my loss was of an entire civilization. Everyone I knew, liked, hated or loved gone in an instant."
Quatre walked over to Wufei and kneeled at his feet. "Gomen, Wufei. I'm so stupid. What does money matter in comparison to the lost of an entire colony? Forgive my foolishness. You've been nothing but kind to me and here I am insulting you."
Wufei leaned over and touched Quatre's cheek. He lifted Quatre's chin up and looked steadily into those eyes of aqua. "There is nothing to forgive, Quatre. You haven't insulted or dishonored me in the least. I just wanted you to know I understood. I did not mean to make it sound like a competition of who had it worse. I apologize." Wufei kissed Quatre softly on the lips.
Quatre kissed him back with need and desire that overwhelmed Wufei. "Wufei, I ... I want," he said breathlessly.
"I know. I think I want that too, but I'm not sure I'm ready for that yet."
Quatre stared at him. "You don't want me?"
Wufei sighed. "Of course I do. I just don't want to rush you or us into something that may turn into a mistake."
"How could it be a mistake?" Quatre asked.
"What about Trowa?" Wufei asked.
Quatre looked perplexed. "Trowa? What about him? That was a long time ago. He left me."
"And if he wanted you back?"
"I would wonder what he was smoking. Next?" Quatre asked feeling combative.
"Work!" Wufei huffed. "There would be talk."
"There's already talk, Wufei. Many are wondering who you are seeing that's making you not spend so much time at work. I'm sure given our living arrangements, they'll figure it out and assume we're doing it even if we're not," Quatre laughed.
"Damn onna! It's Sally, isn't it?" Wufei blustered.
Quatre laughed some more and hugged Wufei, "Among others."
"I'm not very ... experienced, okay? Is that what you wanted to hear," Wufei finished blushing.
Quatre stopped laughing and hugged Wufei harder. "We'll go as slow as you like. I care for you Wufei, do you understand that?"
Wufei sighed, relaxing into the embrace. "I understand. I care for you too."
That night, Quatre stopped sleeping on the couch and began sharing a bed with Wufei. They didn't go faster than Wufei was ready to go. They would kiss and sleep in each other's arms.
There were giggles and stares as predicted by Quatre before he started working there, but Wufei ignored all the gossip. Whenever possible they would lunch together. Wufei still left work at six, but now he left with Quatre during that time.
Quatre slowly got in contact with the other former pilots to let them know that he was okay. Duo gave him and Wufei grief for keeping them in the dark for so long. Heero merely smiled and told Quatre he was happy the blond was okay. Quatre called Trowa and invited him to dine with him and Wufei.
Wufei was more nervous than Quatre had ever seen him before. "What's wrong Wufei?"
Wufei didn't want to say. "It's nothing, really."
"It can't be nothing. You're upset. What is it?" the blond man asked before perching himself on Wufei's lap so he couldn't escape or evade the question.
"It's too silly. Forget it," Wufei said embarrassed.
"Nothing is too silly. Spill it, what's the problem?"
"Why did you invite Trowa to dinner?" Wufei asked looking closely at Quatre.
"Why? Why not?" Quatre replied. Seeing that wasn't an adequate response for Wufei, he tried to put it into words. "I guess I owe him. He made me contact you. If he hadn't, I don't know what would have happened. I was surviving on the streets, but for how long?"
"Why didn't you let him help you? Why me?" Wufei asked, knowing he probably shouldn't, but he really wanted to know.
"Now it's my turn to sound silly. I couldn't let him help. I had spent so much time trying to get him to be what I wanted him to be, that turning to him for help was too humiliating," he sighed.
"Was that why he left? Because he didn't want to be what you wanted him to be?" Wufei asked.
"Couldn't or wouldn't. I don't know," he answered back, deep in thought.
"Why me? Why not Duo, or Heero, or even Rashid?"
"I was too ashamed to go to Rashid. He and the others held me in such high esteem I knew that the pity would kill me. Duo? I love him, but he would have driven me insane. I don't know if Heero would have been up to the challenge. You just seemed like the only one who wouldn't overwhelm me with pity. I'm glad I picked correctly," he said as he leaned in to kiss Wufei.
"And am I everything you want me to be?" Wufei asked, shyly.
"Everything and more," Quatre said huskily as he recaptured Wufei's lips. Heated kisses and wondrous touches were interrupted by the knock on the door. "Damn," Quatre sighed. "Just when it was getting good."
"Well, you're the one who invited him!" Wufei responded trying to find ways to will his arousal away.
Trowa seemed happy to see the two. After making the general pleasantries, Quatre went to the kitchen to get Trowa a drink. Wufei felt this time was as good as any to talk with Trowa alone.
"You saw him before. What a difference time can make, yes?" Wufei awkwardly began.
Trowa nodded. "Yes, he looks good. He looks healthy and happy."
"We ... Quatre and I have started to ... I mean we haven't but ..." Wufei stumbled over his words, embarrassed.
Trowa smiled, "Wufei, are you asking for my blessing? You have it. I think you two make a good couple. So relax."
Quatre wandered in the room carrying wineglasses and a bottle of wine. He saw the flushed look on Wufei's face and the smile on Trowa's. "Okay, what's happened?" He handed Trowa a glass and filled it.
As he was filling Wufei's glass, Trowa said, "I was just giving Wufei and you my blessings on your relationship. I wish you nothing but happiness, but you knew that already."
Quatre laughed almost spilling the wine. "I didn't think I needed your blessing, but if Wufei did, I'm glad we have it."
The rest of the evening went smoothly and after Trowa left, they cleared away dishes and got ready for bed. Wufei was already in bed, reading a book when Quatre entered the room, wearing a robe.
"Wu, don't tell me you're going to read!" Quatre said, with a pout on his face.
"Only for a little bit, what did you have in mind?" he asked looking up from his book.
"I was hoping you could help me with a problem," Quatre said with a mischievous smile.
"What sort of problem?" Wufei asked, he wasn't sure why but this coy act of Quatre's was starting to stir parts of his anatomy.
"Tomorrow is laundry day so I had nothing left to wear but these," he said as he removed his robe revealing the leopard print bikini underwear Wufei had loaned him long ago when he first moved in. They were rather small underwear that barely held Quatre's arousal.
Wufei wanted to laugh but feared that would break the mood. "Were those always so ... small? Come here and let me see if we can't do something about your problem."
Quatre walked slowly and seductively to the bed. Wufei's eyes followed every sensual movement with great interest. As Quatre got closer to the bed, Wufei grabbed him and pulled him down on the bed. He quickly bathed the blond with kisses as his hands gently rubbed and squeezed the erection barely contained in leopard print. Quatre arched towards the touch and moaned in a way that made Wufei bolder than he normally would be.
He continued his assault on Quatre. Nibbling on his neck and pinching Quatre's hardened nipples. "Hmm, Wufei. Don't stop."
Wufei knew he wouldn't be stopping tonight. Quatre has been more patient with him than he deserved. He felt this was the night they would really spend together as one. Wufei idly traced lazy patterns on Quatre's stomach with his tongue before kissing the pattern. His hand reached to remove the bikini underwear. "Remind me to thank Maxwell, for these later," he smiled as he pulled them off of Quatre's body with aching slowness.
"I will. I want you out of those pyjamas. Now," Quatre demanded breathlessly.
"Pushy, pushy," Wufei laughed. "You tell a guy you love him and it's hurry, hurry, hurry."
Quatre's heart stopped for a moment. "You love me?"
Wufei stopped unbuttoning his top. "Yes, kisama! I love you. Is that going to be a problem?"
Quatre laughed. "No problem at all baka! I love you too. Now get those clothes off!"
