Title: Break the Terror of the Urban Spell: Part 10
Author: Kimmie (JaenKaeGW@hotmail.com)
Archive: GW Addiction
Category: yaoi, angst
Pairings: 1+2+1
Disclaimer: I don't own the characters, I mean no harm, I have no money... Stuff like that. Yeah.
Rating: NC-17 (this part, PG)
Warnings: Inspired by Anne Rice's "Sleeping Beauty" trilogy... to a point. Slight language warning.
Spoilers: None.
Notes: Title pulled from Tori Amos... "Riot Poof" off of "to venus and back". This story has actually been in the works for a long while now, most of that with it sitting on the back burner. I'm working on it now, though, and I hope to finish it off in the next month or so.
I can't even begin to think how many parts it will be. It will go until it's gone, most likely. But, enjoy until this. Also, I'd like to thank the few people who've responded to this fic. I haven't gotten a bad comment about this, and even though I've only gotten a handful of them, each one really makes me want to write more. So, enjoy, please?

Break The Terror Of The Urban Spell by Kimmie

Part Ten

\\START FLASHBACK//

Heero didn't return until late that evening. Duo, upon his arrival, finally left the kitchen. He'd sat on the floor, near the door, for hours, just thinking about what Heero had said. It was a lot to think about. Heero was confessing his love, and admitting his need and it was to Duo. When you're alone for a good portion of your life, you get used to being lonely even if no one can tell. Heero's promise of utter devotion seemed too good to be true.

When Heero turned around from locking the door behind him, he was greeted with the sight of Duo, still naked, just standing in front of him. He couldn't bring himself to meet Duo's eyes. Instead, he walked over to one corner of the room and collapsed on top of a pile of pillows, pulling one of them into his lap and twisting one corner in a gesture indicating that he had become entirely uncomfortable with the situation. If he'd looked up, he might have noticed the concerned look that suddenly washed over Duo's fine features.

"Heero?" He didn't look up. "Heero, man..." He turned his head away and twisted the pillow's corner again. Finally, Duo walked over, kneeled down next to Heero, and slapped him as hard as he could. "Don't pull this shit with me."

Looking down at the pillow in his lap, Heero looked wide-eyed and more out of it than Duo had ever seen him. It was more frightening than his "Perfect Soldier" glare had ever been, and that was saying something. "Heero. Talk to me." But, Heero said nothing. "Damn it. Say something!" Again, nothing.

Finally, Duo moved to sit on the pillows next to Heero. "You're scaring me." Heero fidgeted. "I'm sorry about all of this. I... I never realized how much all of this meant to you. When you first said you were going to do all of this, I thought you were joking. I thought that my friend Heero was finally joking. I don't know why I didn't realize that you've never really joked before, and never about something so serious, so you weren't likely to joke about that either. When you actually came to get me, I completely wasn't expecting it, especially with what you had me do. And, I rebelled, I know. But, it's because I went through this a bit with Zechs and that never worked. It could have been great, but then it just stopped and I was a mess for a while." Duo paused, wondering when the filter between his brain and mouth had finally given away. "I'm still a mess and I don't know what to do about it.

"Heero, you are someone I could submit to. But, it takes a bit of getting used to, y'know? I had this life all planned out and I was going to be unhappy, I knew, but it would be worth it because it was still my life. Then, you come along and start telling me what to do again, and even though they're mostly things I don't mind doing, sometimes being told to do what you want to anyway causes problems. I treated you like an equal for so long, and that's what makes this difficult for me, I think. You were my best friend during the war. In fact, I think you still you." He paused again. "I hope you still are. Because, this is going to hurt like hell if I find out otherwise after I do this."

"Do what?" Heero finally glanced up. His eyes were shining and young, his knees pulled up to his chest with his arms wrapped loosely around them.

Duo smiled. "This." He leaned in until his forehead was resting against Heero's, the tips of their noses touching as well. "You knew I loved you during the war, didn't you?"

Heero didn't answer. He just worked his throat on the dry, hot air that seemed to suddenly fill the apartment. But, the moisture was back quickly as Duo leaned in very slightly and pressed his lips against Heero's, testing his boundaries before braving on and adding pressure, sliding one hand up the side of Heero's face to caress the skin there softly before gently forcing open Heero's jaw. His tongue traced along Heero's lips and then past them, stopping on the points of his teeth for a quick inspection. Heero could feel Duo's smile against his lips, could feel Duo's tongue engaging his own. Duo pulled his tongue away, then softly pulled his lips away, his hand still touching Heero's cheek gently.

Moving his hand slowly away from Heero's cheek down to join with his hand, Duo smiled. "You mean the world to me, you know. But, I have things I need to sort out before I can be happy being your slave. I have things I need to say to people, and I need to figure out all of my feelings before I can say that these are the ones I need to be feeling. I think I need to get away from this city, quite possibly. There are too many people for thinking. Though, that was one of the reasons I moved here in the first place. If I'm not thinking, I can be happy no matter what. And, darn you, Heero. You're making me think." His smile grew wider. "I guess that means I have to figure out what can make me happy now."

Duo leaned back against the wall. "I have to have a nice long talk with Zechs, too. I know you don't want to hear it, but I have lots of ties with him, too. He was a big part of my life when I needed someone to play the role he did. In a way, that was all because of you. You offered me things and I didn't think it would be right to take them from you, of all people, because you were my best friend. Unfortunately, I fell into the hands of the enemy and those hands felt pretty damn good." Duo grinned quickly. "Zechs moisturizes twice a day, you know. But, it all ended up being a big mess that I just didn't know how to start sorting out, so I didn't bother. And, now, it's just more of a mess and it's like it's all trying to topple over on me, but I think I finally figured out what I need to do to get it all organized. And, I want you to wait for me and be here for me in every capacity you can, even if it means I end up deciding not to be with you like you want me to be, because we'll always be friends. I'll make sure of that."

Heero looked over at Duo, his eyes seeming to return to normal. "How do you keep me sane?"

"I'm not sure," Duo answered truthfully.

"I'm here for you." Heero's eye contact didn't waver.

Duo grinned. "Great! Does this mean I get to wear clothes now?"

Heero smiled tentatively, as though he'd never used those muscles before. "We'll see, I guess."
