I've been writing way too much fluff, I think. So here's a nice serious story to balance it out. Yes, it's a Lady Anne story. I just like to write about her. Very short.
Anybody know of anybody else who writes Une/Anne fics?
Lady Anne watched as the fragments fall upon the earth, burning up and becoming incandescent as they entered the atmosphere.
"It's beautiful," said Relena as she wept tears of joy. "The people on Earth must be seeing thousands of shooting stars."
Lady Anne looked at them and looked at the sphere below them. Strangely, she felt no joy, but simply a sense of satisfaction. The Earth is safe, Treize-sama. Peace has finally come.
She could see the tears in Wufei's eyes from the monitor in her mobile suit. Why, she thought. Why are you crying? Aren't you satisfied that you've killed the greatest man in the world? You're not the one who lost the love of her life, the center of her world.
She thought about the adolescent who brought him down. Treize-sama, he was not worthy of bring you down, but then who was? Nobody was worthy of you.
"You were magnificent, Treize-sama," she whispered.
"It's like the souls of all the soldiers that died in space are coming home," said Lady Anne. Especially yours, Treize-sama, especially yours. Even though I see all those shooting stars, I have no other wishes to make. Because the only wish I have left cannot be granted.
