"Quatre," Heero said. "I need advice." Quatre turned to face him, smiling, but his smile faded as he saw the serious expression on Heero's face.
"What's the matter, Heero?"
"I have... feelings. For Duo."
"And you need me to help you sort them out?"
"No," Heero said, a bit surprised at the suggestion. "I know what my feelings are. I want advice on wooing."
"On what?"
"Wooing. You know. Being romantic."
"Ah... I don't know..."
"How do you get someone's attention?"
"Well," Quatre said wryly, thinking of his own lack of success in that department, "if you figure it out, let me know. I've always heard that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach..."
"So I should try cooking for him," Heero said. "Thanks, Quatre!"
"Wait, Heero, that wasn't what I meant-!" Quatre began, but Heero was already gone.
"You're home late," Heero said.
"Yeah," Duo replied. "I had a call at the last minute..."
"I fixed you dinner."
"Gee... Heero... that's the third time this week..."
"I kept it warm for you. I'll go get it."
"Um... thanks, Heero, really, but... uh... I grabbed a bite on my way home. I couldn't eat another mouthful, really!"
"Duo..."
"I really appreciate it, but..."
Quatre crept downstairs, feeling a little guilty for spying on his friends. He'd heard Duo's car pulling up, and he was curious to know whether Heero's plan had worked...
He peeked into the kitchen, just in time to see Heero yelling, "EAT IT OR OMAE O KOROSU!" and trying to cram meatloaf and potatoes into a most uncooperative Duo's mouth.
Evidently, the way to a man's heart was NOT through his stomach. Quatre's own attempts at cooking had met with similar results.
Perhaps it would've helped if either he or Heero were *good* at cooking.
Quatre sighed, and headed back up the stairs, shuddering at the unearthly shrieks coming from the kitchen. Maybe it was time to finally break down and buy that copy of "the Rules" he'd been eyeing.
