Title: No Silver Bullet

Notes: I read a sad and lovely fic Samipi had written for Halloween titled Memory Immortal and and I was attacked by plot ghouls. The ficlet is very short and not at all sweet.
He knelt over his fresh kill and howled triumphantly at the full moon.
"Monsters are nothing more than stories to scare small childern. They don't exist, they can't exist", his prey had scoffed.
He'd tried to warn the man, but he wouldn't believe. And now the stubborn, pigheaded, logic-driven fool was dead. The hand on his severed arm still gripped the pistol he'd tried to fire once he'd learned the truth. His heart, ripped from his now shredded corpse, devoured by the very thing he could not bring himself to believe in.
Once again the monster raised his head toward the sky just as the night gave way to dawn. His howls became screams as his body slowly changed from beast to man and his bloodlust turned to grief.
Duo Maxwell pried the gun from his victim's bloodsoaked fingers and pressed the barrel against his temple.
"Heero", he sobbed before he squeezed the trigger and the world turned black forever.
The legends were wrong, any bullet could kill a werewolf.
