Notes: I was watching Wayne's World 2 this morning. The scene where they spoof the wedding/elopement scene from The Graduate gave me a silly idea: The GW version.
In case you are wondering, a drabblet is a fic too big for a drabble but not quite big enough to be a ficlet. I just made that up, too. ::grins::
He pounded against the glass and yelled at the top of his lungs. Fear filled his heart when he looked down into the church's sanctuary at the woman and man who stood at the altar and prayed he wasn't too late to stop the wedding.
The noise of his pounding startled the wedding party and they turned and looked up in surprise, shock and horror. Some shook their heads in disbelief while others mouthed epithets at the seemingly deranged young man.
The man who stood at the altar pulled away from the woman and hastily begged her forgiveness while he ran down the aisle. The seemingly deranged young man saw him and began running down the stairs. They met at the sanctuary doors. The seemingly deranged man grabbed the other and dragged him into the anteroom.
"What are you doing? Are you crazy?" the man who had stood at the alter whispered harshly.
"I can't let you do this," the seemingly deranged man answered, "You're making a terrible mistake."
"What are you talking about?" the other man almost screeched.
"You love me and, and... well, I love you too," the seemingly deranged man shouted, his voice was filled with urgency and desperation. "I'm sorry but I didn't realize it until this morning."
The other man wiped his face with his hands and he began to chuckle softly. It slowly crescendoed to to a full blown belly laugh. The seemingly deranged man felt disappointed and hurt.
"Oh Heero, I love you too!" Duo exclaimed while he caught his breath. "But let's talk about it later. Right now I'm busy giving Hilde away to her groom."
