This is a very short, tongue-in-cheek ficlet.
It was cold outside and colder inside. The old house was empty except for a dusty old blanket tucked away in the corner of a closet. It was more like a piece of a blanket really, barely big enough to cover one person if he rolled himself into a ball.
Naturally, a fight broke out over it.
"I saw it first," Heero said, trying hard to tug it out of Duo's hands.
"Yeah? Well I grabbed it first. You know what they say about possession and the law," Duo wheezed as he held on for dear life. His breath turned to ice crystals as soon as it hit the frigid air.
"It's mine!" Heero snarled.
"Mine!" Duo growled.
"No, mine!" Heero huffed.
"Mine!" Duo puffed.
"Mine!" Linus said, appearing from no where."Damn that Lucy, anyway."
He snatched his blanket out of their hands and began rubbing it against his cheek while he sucked his thumb. He smiled contentedly as Snoopy zipped by and latched on to the blanket, pulling him out of the scene.
"Now what?" Heero asked, scratching his head, "I thought this was going to be a blanket fic."
"Me too, Heero. Me too." Duo sighed.
Inspired by blanket fics, especially one currently posted to GW-Fan titled The Blanket, by Persephone, post #s 68187 & 68188. I haven't read it yet but the title inspired this scenario to pop in my head.
I originally didn't include Snoopy but added him as suggested by Catzero. This resulted in a better ending than I originally had. Thanks Cat!
