I don't usually do teasers but this time I'm getting a bit 'jammed' from all the fic ideas I've got at the moment so it's going to be 'first come first served' sort of thing, where YOUR responses will determine which one I go after first. :lol By the way, this is my first (I think) unadulterated 2x1 fic (might even become a lemon if enough people are interested). Oh yeah, and I'm kind of careless with the whole x and + thing but this time, I got it right, I promise. I got 'inspired' by a new series called 'The Big-O' (terrible name but I definitely enjoyed it).

You're the Only One for Me by Katana

Teaser

Never felt that love is so right
The world seemed such an empty place
We need someone we could give our all
Baby, it's you, we'll be together now and forever.

(chorus from 'and FOREVER', end theme song to 'Big-O')

40 years ago, the world came to an end.

Or so the elders said.

Apparently, one morning they woke up and everyone had lost their memory. Of who they were, of the world that had been.

It didn't matter that much to me.

This was the only world that I had ever known.

Every now and then though, one of the elders would remember. And life got more exciting.

I got out of the car slowly, careful not to alarm to obviously nervous goons and held up the briefcase.

I decided that there was only one who gave me any concern, a weaselly looking blond with a slimy smirk, the other two were beefy looking idiots, who didn't know how to hold their guns properly. I checked the car and saw the silhouette of a slender figure in the backseat, judging from the way he was leaning forward, and the way his head was held at an angle, I guessed that he was probably tied up and blindfolded.

Heero Yuy. The adopted child and heir to my client, Odin Yuy, one of the richest man in Sanq City.

I opened up the briefcase and briefly flashed the money to the kidnappers, before snapping it shut and putting it on the ground and giving it just enough push to move the briefcase to the exact centre of the distance between my car and the car of the kidnappers.

'Now it's your turn.' I called out in an even voice, and saw one of the goons move toward the car and pull out the slim youth.

This was the first time I had ever seen Heero and even blindfolded, with his arms tied behind him, I could tell that he was beautiful. The goon untied Heero's arms but left the blindfold on and gave him a rough shove towards me.

'Just move slowly in this direction Heero.' I called out, and waited calmly as the blinded youth carefully made his way across, the goon following closely behind him, but not touching him, until they reached the briefcase. Then Heero continued alone while the goon grabbed the suitcase and ran back to his friends.

I could hear the squealing of tires from the outside and silently cursed myself for getting involved in this case. I hated clients who didn't know enough to stay out of the professional's way. I ignored the goons who got excited when they also heard the car screeching towards us and clambered into their car and sped away, and the silver Mercedes that slammed to a halt next to my own black BMW. I was busy.

Heero had finally reached my side, his hands still held out hesitantly in front of him as he came to a halt, sensing my presence. I reached up behind him and gently loosened the blindfold and stared, his solemn face turned up towards my own.

'You're safe now Heero.' I whispered softly. 'Though I don't know whether you're happy to have to return to that old fart.'

Odin jumped out of the car and ran to me, swearing and cursing loudly.

'What the hell do you think you're doing, you idiot? They're getting away with my money!'

I shrugged carelessly, as I gathered one of Heero's cool hands in my own and pulled him towards Odin. 'I got your son back. Isn't that what you wanted old man?'

I thought Odin was going to explode as he looked at Heero, then back at me.

'You idiot. That's a bioroid. I gave you that money to get Heero back, not this copy.'

I dropped Heero's hand and turned around for another look, this time, snapping the sunglasses off my face first. I scanned the impossibly flawless complexion and features, the emotionless eyes and felt my cheeks warm with embarrassment.

'It was kind of dark.' I offered feebly, to Odin's back as he ran back to his car and started to drive away, presumably to chase after the three goons who had broken the fundamental rule of negotiation. Always act in good faith. Mind you, I didn't think much of this client either, who had disobeyed my instructions to stay away until after the deal was completed.

I pursed my lips disapprovingly as I pressed down on the button of the remote I fished out of my left hip pocket. Some people just had to learn things the hard way.

And in the distance I could see a small explosion and felt my lips curve into a wide smile as I envisioned the goons' discomfit when they saw the briefcase fly away from them.

A shot rang out and my jaw slackened as the briefcase fell open and all the money started to bleed into the streets.

Never underestimate the damage an idiot can do. especially an idiot holding a gun.

Oh well. It wasn't my money. I shrugged to myself and decided to head back home. I couldn't resist a final look at the stunning bioroid who stood wordlessly through our encounter.

'Damn. They've gotten really good at making these things.' I mused out loud to myself and got back into my car.

As I drove away, I could see the bioroid Heero staring after me and felt a strange twinge in my chest when I saw how forlorn and alone he looked as he stood in the huge, empty aero-dome by himself. But what else could I do, he wasn't my responsibility.

End teaser

tbc.

Well? What'd you think? By the way, Heero's character in 'Big-O' is a female android. And of course the narrator, who is still be properly introduced, that's the next part, is Duo. It's following the series kind of closely, though I'm 'Gundam-adapting' where appropriate.
