Gnight! I'm spent.

Politically [Incorrect] Cinderella

Once there was a kingdom, far far away in China. The king was Laoshi-O, and he had a son named Chang Wufei. Poor Chang Wufei's wife died when they were so young and I think Chang Wufei is the youngest widower ever in that kingdom.

King O (for short) was so afraid that his son might go mental because of severe depression, decided to throw a grand ball to find his son a spouse. Since the king didn't know whether his son preferred a yaoi or a non-yaoi relationship and he had an open mind he sent for all bachelors and maidens, for all widows and widowers across the country to come and compete for his son's hand.

In a house, there lived a lady and her three children. Two were her real children and the other one is an adopted one. The two children were Zechs and Noin and the adopted one was Treize.

Treize did all the cleaning (T: I detest that!) and housekeeping, Zechs did all the horse grooming (Z: Hey!) and Noin's was to make sure that the house had all the sunlight and flowers. Of course as the stepson Treize got to pluck the flowers, water the garden, but he didn't mind at all. He loved flowers.

One day, a royal guard came to the house and summoned all the people in the house and gave the invitation. As the youngest, Noin squealed with delight. She had never gone to a ball before. Zechs would go if Noin would and Treize would just like to go. Secretly, he had an obsession with the prince. They met once before, when the prince stopped by their house and asked for a drink.

Lady Une read the invitation: all bachelors and maidens, all widows and widowers are... WAIT A MINUTE! Widows and widowers? Une checked herself in the mirror and said, "I am a widow and I am still eligible for the prince! Wow. Naah. Even as she wanted to live nice, she was not into younger, not to mention millennia younger than her. But I could still go for the king, she thought.

So, the preparation came. They all attended Noin first, because she was the youngest. And she needed to put on a gown, I mean, all the necessary woman kit. Like the corset, a tight one that is, and the make up and the hairdo! Everything. They put flowers on her head, and glitters on her dress, which was Lilac (the color of this season) and she slipped on her shoes made from satin. Next was Zechs, because he was the second youngest.

He wore the white tuxedo, with a tea colored rose on the lapel, and white polished shoes, and his long hair scented with mint. Lady Une stepped into the room and saw that all is good. Then came Treize. He stood in front of the closet, trying to look his best. The other children went down to grab something to snack.

Then the clock strikes seven. And everyone rushed into the carriage. They were so excited they forgot everything about their oldest brother. So, when Treize got down, everyone was nowhere to be found.

So Treize, went up the stairs again, feeling very dejected and flung his jacket to an unknown corner. Poor Treize.

He grabbed his scuzzybaby to cure him of his sadness and *Poof* a spirit came into view. "Who?" Treize asked.

"I am Meiran. Chang Wufei's dead wife."

"Hey! I am not responsible for your death."

"Baka. Of course not!" she hit him with her wand.

"So?"

"I want everyone to enjoy my husband's party and that includes you."

"And?"

"Could you stop cutting me in mid sentence?"

"Sure, sure, whatever."

"So, I will take you there. Come."

And they went into the porch and Meiran whistled. A gundam stomped into view, "This is Nataku, otherwise called Gundam Shenlong. He will take you there."

"Er, thanks, Meiran. There's no catch right?"

"No, not at all. Have fun."

So, Treize boarded the Gundam and the Gundam took Treize to the castle.

In the castle, it was a grand ball. Pillars of marbles everywhere, and the polished marble floors reflected the dancing people. The sounds of clicking wine glass and the laughter, the whispers and the sighs, the scent of perfume and roses rose up to the air. The moon hung low, adding light into the night as endless flow of music and fun filled the room.

But not all are happy. The prince was quite bored by now. He couldn't find anyone who suited him. Well not now at least. The girl Noin looked nice and she was friendly too. Her brother, Zechs looked nice too. Even their mother was nice. And he could sense that his father had a crush on Lady Une. Not that he cared. So he talked and talked with the two siblings who seemed very nervous.

"Why so nervous, Lady Noin? Lord Zechs?"

"We left our oldest brother by accident at home"

"Oh. Pity."

"We know. We wanted him to come, and he too wanted to come so badly. He said he saw you before. Oh it would be nice for him to meet you again." Noin said, shaking her head in sorrow.

Then, "Noin! Look, he's here."

Noin and Wufei looked at the direction of Treize and Wufei suddenly recognized the man! Treize! Time seemed to freeze!

Treize walked down to meet his siblings and bowed gracefully at the young prince and kissed the top of the gloved hand. Wufei blushed.

Then the first notes of a waltz sprang into soft life into the air.

"Can I have this dance, My Prince?"

"Why of course," and they stepped into the middle of the ballroom and danced to the music.

"That's my boy." Lady Une said, as she danced with the King.

"My dear lady, your children are so well bred. I would love them to be here always."

So, after hours of dancing, the children of Lady Une sat on the steps overlooking a magnificent pool that reflected the full moon. The waters glistened like a million diamonds.

They took off their shoes and freed their aching toes and feet. "Which one of us would the prince choose?" asked Noin to her brothers.

"I don't know, imouto. Let him choose," said Treize.

Then the clock struck twelve.

"Oh! It's twelve o clock!!" Noin exclaimed.

"It's past our bedtime!" said Zechs.

"And we haven't done our homework!" Treize said.

"We have to go home!" and the three children ran home, forgetting that they left their shoes on the staircase.

So, that night when everyone went home, the prince stood there scratching his head, "Dad." he called to his father.

"Yes son."

"I don't remember we sell shoes."

"Of course not. They belong to Lady Une's children. They ran back home because they forgot to do their homework and it was past bedtime."

"Oh."

"Now you don't 'oh' me, young man! You haven't finished your homework and its past bedtime too."

"Aw father!!"

"No buts. Lady Une's children are more civilized and easy to control than you. You need to learn from them."

"Do I get to marry all of them?"

"No. You choose one."

"But I can't choose. They are all nice."

So, the next day, as the children came back from school, with panda eyes because of their lack of sleep (but they managed to finish their homework *pat pat*), there were three golden carriages glimmering under the sun waiting for them!

Lady Une half ran down the porch and hugged her three children, and led them into the house where the king and the prince were waiting. Then the prince said, "I want to marry the three of you, and here! Your shoes. Don't leave it on the staircase anymore. Someone might trip and fall."

The three blushed. "We're sorry," they chorused.

"And one more thing," the king said. "I am going to marry your mother."

Noin hugged her mother and said, "So! We are all going to live in the palace? I could be near my mother?"

"Yes" the king said. And all cheered.

So the marriage banquet went underway. It was even grander than the last one. With all the colors across the towers and the bluest sky, and the golden sun, and the myriad of flowers and all the smiling guests, and of course the happiest one was:

"Hello Meiran." Treize said, as he found the spirit sitting in the garden.

"Hi Treize." she said as Treize sat down on the bench beside her.

"Are you happy?"

"Of course. Now I can rest in peace. I know my husband is in good hands!"

"Thank you Meiran."

"No problem. See you." and she left, leaving with bright showers of sparkles. "Thank you once again."

Treize watched as the last shower disappeared. And, "Treize. Talking to?"

He turned around and found Wufei. "Meiran."

"She's happy?"

"Very."

"I love you."

"I love you too, Wufei."

"HEY! Kyoudai! Having fun alone!!" Noin glomps her brother and her husband.

"Umph. Hi Noin." Wufei said.

"And me too." Zechs came out of the blue.

"And you too." Wufei said. "I am happy"

"I bet you are. I love you." Treize said.

So?

The end.
