"And he slam dunks the ball! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, little Dylan Maxwell is a natural basketball player, just like his daddy!"

Duo lowered his 2-year old son into his arms and swung the boy around in circles. The ball, which had dutifully fallen through the hoop, was now in the hands of his youngest daughter.

"Up!" 3-year old Mara Jade demanded, looking at her father and holding the large orange basket ball up.

Duo laughed—his daughter was as bossy as his husband—and obediently lifted the girl up to the hoop so she could drop the ball, too. "Incredible!" he narrated. "The Home team has scored another slam dunk by none other than the lovely and very talented Mara Jade Chang!"

"Duo," Heero called from the back door. "Dinner’s ready."

"And the game goes to the Home team! And to celebrate—dinner!"

"Yeah!" Mara Jade squealed, running ahead of her father and brother. Dylan smiled and clapped his hands, highly satisfied with his winnings.

~13 years later~

"Ooh! And it’s another score for the lovely and talented Mara J!" the 16-year old rubbed in, catching the faded orange ball and tossing it to her brother.

"He ducks left, he ducks right, feints, turn over, and it’s off---!" Pause. "And it’s good! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the Home team is effectively cleaning the house out."

"Hn. That will be the day," Heero replied. "Dinner’s on the table."

"Ooh, the spoils of victory!" 14-year old Dylan rubbed in before bounding off towards the house and dining room, his sister right behind him.

Heero didn’t follow them in right away. "You alright?" he asked.

Duo looked up from where he was bent over, panting. "They’re killing me," he gasped. "There should be a law against beating your old man at his own game…"

Heero smiled and help Duo up, wrapping an arm around his husband’s waist. "Face it, baka—you’re old." He slapped his ass. "If still pretty limber."

Duo just groaned.
