Beneath each name were statistics: the person's address, personal id code, dress, glove, and shoe size for the girls; jacket, shirt, waist, shoe, glove, and inseam for the men. Sighing, Trinity looked over the list again. "Has your father decided which name he's going to use?" she asked, looking up to the vid screen window where Adrian's image was looking very serious.
"No," he sighed. "Just go with Milliardo Peacecraft and let him stew if he doesn't like it."
The dark-haired girl rolled her eyes. "What about the guest list I sent you? Did you get a chance to look it over?"
Adrian nodded, his face turning darker. "Do we really need all those people to be there?"
Trinity sighed. "I know-I didn't even know half those people. Thank the stars for your aunt's help."
"Aunt Dorothy helped you put together that list?" Adrian winced. "Well I guess that settles it then."
His fiancee' offered him a tired smile. "Six months," she reminded him.
"It seems like an eternity away." His fingers brushed the screen, outlining her face. "I miss you."
Trinity smiled, pressed her fingers to her lips before pressing them to the screen. "It'll be here and gone before you know it."
"So you say," he grumped, but a smile had returned to the King of Sanc's young face. "Okay, what else is on that check sheet of yours?"
"Um." Indigo eyes scanned the sheet of paper that had seen better days. "Let's see. I have Father Conway's code here. I'll give him a call later to discuss the arrangements for the ceremony. The Church of Sanc has kindly insisted we hold the actual ceremony there, and I have their information. You said the staff there insists on catering?"
He nodded. "And the palace is large enough to house all out of town personal guests, while the four hotels have been alerted."
"Which is just about everyone," she mused. "That's good. I'll get in touch with the three florists there and see what can happen there." She paused and smiled. "You know, we're really lucky."
"You mean I'm really lucky, don't you?" he asked, staring at her image and wishing it was her in front of him now, not a vid screen. "I love you."
Trinity smiled. "Love you, too, but that's not what I meant. I mean, we have this beautiful palace we're moving into, fully furnished, complete with staff and country."
"And bills, and posh bureaucracy, and-" Her laughter stopped his would-be tirade. "Yes, we're lucky."
"So, have you decided where you're going to take me for our honeymoon?" Trinity teased.
"Well," Adrian scratched his chin. "I still have to go inspecting this county I'm now in charge of. Think a tour of the country would count as a romantic enough honeymoon?"
Trinity's smile was soft and full of love. "If I'm with you, it will be perfect," she promised him.
Adrian gave Trinity a free rein with the wedding, telling her that he wanted her to have the perfect wedding and whatever she wanted he'd see she'd get it. It was a kind way of saying "I'm really busy right now. You plan the wedding and fill me in later, okay?" but Trinity didn't mind.
She was in contact with Sank daily; she already knew the steward on a friendly basis and the man was more than competent, helping her with everything and anything. He was the one who checked with the florists for the quality of flowers that would be required for a royal wedding; he was the one who suggested different decorating schemes; he was the one Trinity spent most of her time with when she could get down to Sanc.
The steward showed her three different Sanc stationary designs; arranged for four different calligraphers to sit for her; took the guest list off her hands and set up a committee for addressing, sending, and receiving replies for the invitations. Every-other-day he had a report ready for her.
"Larissa has promised to arrange the bouquets for the ladies and corsages for the men," Renfeild told her. "And Marissa's, Holly's, and Carl's are reliable sources for the grounds and rooms. Have you decided on the time of day for meals, my lady?"
"Yes, we'll go with what you suggested the other day," Trinity sighed, pushing back her loose hair. "A light continental breakfast before the ceremony, light cucumber sandwiches and o'deourves after, the early sit down, followed by cake and desserts." She sighed again.
"Very good, my lady," Renfeild smiled. "The beef, goose, and dolphin?"
She smiled. "The house specialties, please," she replied. "Thank you, Renfeild. You've been a great help to me. I don't think I would have been able to plan this wedding without your aid."
Then man who was old enough to be her grandfather smiled fondly at her. "It has been a pleasure and an honor, my lady."
"Oh, and Renfeild? I've decided about the gifts."
"Yes, my lady?"
"Request gifts be made out to Maxwell House Association."
"Very good, Lady Trinity."
"How's the planning going?" Adrian asked her as they walked through the gardens one night.
Trinity rested her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes, breathing in the sweet aroma of the flowers. "Let's not talk about the wedding tonight, all right?" she asked. "I leave tomorrow again and we won't be together for a whole two weeks."
"How will I ever survive?" he bemoaned, smiling as they stopped and he pulled her in front of him. "I could never do this without you, you know."
"I must admit," Trinity smiled up at him, "I never really considered being a queen before. A princess, yes, with lots of servants to wait on me hand and foot, but a queen--! There's so much more responsibility to being a queen."
"You'll wear that responsibility with the grace and poise you do everything with," he assured her, kissing her knuckles. "Renfeild tells me that the people already love you, that the people haven't been so hopeful since Aunt Lee ruled."
"Ah!" she laughed lightly. "Tis quite an honor to be compared to the former Queen of the World!" Arms wrapped around her waist and Adrian pulled her against him, looking down into her face.
"I'm sure that, if given the opportunity, the entire Earth Sphere would bow down before your feet, Miss Chang, and do your every whim and bidding."
"I don't need the Earth Sphere, Andy," she whispered, her fingers threading through his dark hair. "I just need you."
