Fall Traditions by Andrea Readwolf

Part Three: Trick-or-Treat

Tradition #3: Trick-or-Treat 207AC

Trowa and Quatre couldn't be home this year, much to Quatre's disappointment. It had been Trowa who had calmly pointed out the 56 men and women who were more than willing babysitting victims for their adventurous toddler duo. In the end, it was Rashid's calm-even after the umpteenth repetition-assurance that the boys would be fine that shoved Quatre onto the jet that would ferret his husband and him away from their sons for the spooky holiday.

Two golden-haired little vampires tore off down the candle-lit sidewalk, black satin, scarlet-trimmed capes flapping out behind them, and a huge bearish man striding in their wake, easily keeping up.

"Great costumes," some of the parents on the street commented, staring after the trio.

Triton and Tristan ran up the pathway and the four steps leading to the front porch of the next house, already eagerly ringing the doorbell by the time Rashid started up the first step.

A woman in a baby pink blush fairy costume, all a glitter, opened the screen door, smiling at both children as she reached into her bowl of goodies.

"Why don't you look fri-IIEEE!!" she started saying before looking past the boys, screaming, and promptly fainting.

The two 3-year olds stared wide-eyed at the fallen fairy before turning back to look up at their guardian.

"I think you killed her."

"I guess fairies don't like Mag'nac so'jers."
