Tradition #11: School Dance 216AC
"Robin Hood and Maid Marian," Trinity answered before their friends could ask.
"How absolutely cool!" one of the girls gushed. "I wish *Jax* was so open-minded!"
"You two look really great, Trin!" another girl broke in.
"Want some punch?" Adrian asked, quickly grasping for an excuse to escape the crush of girls who flocked to Trinity's side, nervously picking at the itchy tights that were smothering his legs.
"Not right now," Trinity began before catching Adrian's face. Her smile brightened up the darkened reception hall. One hand touched his arms. "But why don't' you go get some?" she suggested.
"Okay," he grinned with relief, dropping a small kiss on her hand, playing it up for the spectators. "Fair well my lady."
The second his back was turned the girls jumped on her.
"So.????" one asked excitedly. "Are you two going out or *what*?!" added another.
"What," Trinity answered, adjusting her sleeves. "I keep telling you, Adrian and I have known each other *foever*. We're best friends, that's all."
"So why did you two come to the dance *together* then, huh? Huh? Huh?"
"It was preferable to coming alone," Trinity replied easily.
"When will you stop lying to yourselves and admit you're an item?"
Trinity frowned. "We are *not* an item," she protested.
"So, if Adrian, say, was out there right now, dancing with another girl, you wouldn't be jealous?"
"Absolutely not."
"Good, because he's really tearing up the dance floor!"
Trinity whipped around fast enough to send her wimple askew. Her dark eyes flew over the dancers before locking her forest-clad prince and his dancing partner. There other girls around her didn't understand the laughter that bubbled forth from her almost immediately.
For the rest of the night, people wondered about Triton Winner's mysterious "date"-some girl from another school? Or maybe even a colony!
His friends and family, however, just laughed at Tristan Winner's ability to cross-dress and pull it off.
The End
