Part 10: Bunnies and Ducklings

April, 218AC

Childish giggles of glee could be heard even before the large Duck Pond near Bridgelight came into view. Squeals and laughter as children chased the rabbits around the field or tried to catch one of the little yellow ducklings carried for miles.

When all of the ducklings had escaped capture by swimming to the center of the pond, it was decided that someone should go in and chase the ducklings out.

"Julian, you're the smallest," 12-year-old Tristan told the 6-year-old. "They won't see *you*!"

"Yeah!" Adrian agreed, slapping the little colony-raised boy on the back. "Don't worry. No poisonous snakes or anything," he continued, 'escorting' the boy to the water's edge.

"S-snakes?" the little boy swallowed.

"Adrian! Don't frighten him!" 14-year-old Trinity called from where she sat with a shivering little brown bunny in her lap, holding it steady so Calista and Regina could pet the terrified creature. A few feet away, her sister sat feeding a black and white bunny a carrot.

"Don't worry, Trin!" Triton called back. "Julian isn't afraid, are you?"

"N-no!"

"good! On three!" Four boys--Adrian, Triton & Tristan, and Dylan--surrounded the 6-year-old, grabbing an arm or leg.

"One-" Swing.

"Two-" Swing.

"Three!" SCREAM!!!!

"You *do* realize he can't swim, right?" Regina asked, offering a blade of grass to the bunny.

"WHAT?!?!?!?!"
