You let me fall, Duo.
I trusted you and you let go of my hand at the last second, sending me hurtling over the proverbial cliff.
You said you would always be there, Duo. You said that the fires of hell couldn't keep us from being together.
Is this your punishment, Duo? You stormed from our apartment last night in a fit of rage. You said that I don't understand, but I do. I know exactly what you were doing.
And then when I went after you, Duo, oh Duo, you refused to listen. Instead, you rent the invisible walls of the street with your voice, so strained.
You shouldn't have tried to get away, Duo. A promise is something that you make forever. Forever, Duo.
Then I tried to make you come back with me, but you wouldn't have it. Said you weren't my plaything, my toy. Duo, you were never a possession to me, never a mere trophy lover. You were *mine*, and the fact that you were mine made me love you more.
When you hit me, you really went too far, Duo.
Too far.
Something inside me shattered.
You bled so much, love.
My love.
Lover.
You looked good, just lying there, so red. There was so much red, like paint, except it smelled like death around you.
Duo.
You let me fall, but not before I pushed you first, headlong, screaming into the darkness, forsaken.
Bianca
